| At Madikwe River Lodge, surrounded by 75000 hectares of malaria-free African veld, this lodge is ideally positioned on the Groot Marico River in the heart of this National Park. The experienced game rangers generously share their intimate knowledge of the bush as you venture on your many safari rides or game walks.
Madikwe Game Reserve is situated in the North West Province and is bordered by Botswana in the north. The diverse habitat in the reserve, from acacia savannah to riverine, ensures a unique combination of species, including wild dog, cheetah, lion, white and black rhino, buffalo and elephant. The birdlife is spectacular. Madikwe River Lodge is a child-friendly establishment, sleeper couch and cots are available on request. This is also one of South Africa's malaria free game reserves. MADIKWE RIVER LODGE ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Sixteen secluded split-level thatched chalets provide comfortable accommodation in the cool tranquility of a riverine forest. The individually decorated chalets create a rich African feel and offer en-suite bathroom and shower with a range of guest amenities, air-conditioning, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. A private wooden viewing deck overlooks the river. Luxury Suite features include a separate lounge area and an outside shower. FOOD & WINE: Madikwe River Lodge is ideal for outdoor dining as the bush environment provides the perfect backdrop to your safari experience. Breakfast is served in the dining room or outdoor deck. Lunch is served on the main lodge deck and Dinner is served in the Island Boma.
