Umlani's viewpoint of simplified luxury and also 'getting back to nature' is boosted by the romance of functioning without having electrical power. Appreciate the warm ambiance of candlelight and oil lamps as well as open-air bush showers fuelled by means of wood fires. Umlani provides an genuine wildlife encounter in Big Five territory. View lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, in over 10 000 hectares (24 000 acres) of traversing area, also home to over 40 mammal species and 350 bird species. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Umlani Bush Camp can receive a total of sixteen visitors. Presently there are four double huts, three huts that sleep four people, and one hut that sleeps three people. This enables the Lodge to be accommodating with friends and families that would like to share accommodation. Each and every hut features en-suite amenities which include an open-air bush shower fuelled by wood fires. The hut is adequately equipped with white mosquito netting, crisp white bed linen and towels as well as with standard bathroom amenities, bottled water (although the tap water is perfectly safe to drink) and insect repellent. FOOD & WINE: Pre-dinner beverages are generally offered within the traditional boma around the open fire, accompanied by one of Umlani's award winning dinners in the candle lit dining room, or out in the open riverbed surrounded by flares and cauldron fires. Umlani's award winning cuisine will take you on a gastronomic tour of African styled food. FACILITIES: In the course of the daytime you may head out on short walks along with the ranger right after breakfast, or perhaps lounge in the double hammocks close to the swimming pool sipping your preferred drink. On the other hand, laze away the day in the roomy bush bar and deck looking over the riverbed and watering hole. For exceptional tranquillity there is a tree house about 2.5 kms from the camp overlooking a dam, where you can be left alone for an hour or two with quilts and huge comfy cushions as well as a chiller box with beverages. ACTIVITIES: Everyone will always be taken out on 2 game drives per day, in open top Land Rovers. The morning game drive will depart at daybreak as well as the evening drive will depart in the late afternoon. There is constantly a ranger on stand-by intended for an optional morning bush walk.
