| Jackalberry Lodge is situated within the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, which is one of the world's premier big five game viewing areas. The Majestic Drakensberg Mountains provide a spectacular backbrop for this initmate camp, offering magnificent views, understated luxury and restful, ethnic ambience that blends harmoniously with nature. Jackalberry Lodge is named after the beautiful Jackalberry Tree that occurs widely in the bushveld. It is just one of the fascinating trees and shrubs that allow the bushveld to support such a wide variety of animal and insect life. The bush around the lodge teems with game. More than 60 species of wildlife can be found in the immediate vacinity, including lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, elephant, hyena and cheetah. Jackalberry Lodge is also a paradise for birdwatchers, where more than 280 species have been recorded. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: 5 Standard Chalet Style Rooms with en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers 1 Luxury Suite with en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers 1 Family Room with two bedrooms and one bathroom Guest rooms have two twin beds or one king size bed. The family room has two twin beds and one queen size bed. All rooms are equipped with mini-bars, electronic room safe, hair-dryer, tea and coffee-making facilities, telephone, mosquito net and airconditioning. All Jackalberry Lodge rooms open onto patios. FOOD & WINE: The majestic Drakensberg Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop for you as you enjoy "sundowners" and savoury snacks in this amazing setting.
