Royal Malewane is situated on a private reserve within the greater Kruger National Park Area of South Africa. 13 000 hectares (30 000 Acres) provide a balance of spectacular game and wildlife viewing, extensive flora and never-ending African skies.

Royal Malewane provides an escape from the constraints of modern life to a synthesis of wildest Africa and age-old colonial splendour. As the lodge is set deep in the African bush, this is ideal for the traveler who wants to experience true Africa. Most groups mix together well, and guests traveling alone are unlikely to feel excluded. Depending on availability, we are able to accommodate single travelers. Its unique size makes Royal Malewane suited to being booked in its entirety for families or friends wishing to have the camp for their exclusive use. To appreciate all that Royal Malewane has to offer, we recommend a minimum of a two-night stay.

ROOM & SUITE TYPES:

Boasting unparalleled views, the Royal Malewane Suites are the pinnacle of refinement and opulence. Luxurious appointments provide a neo-classical refuge in the untamed bush. Six Suites each accommodate two guests, wooden decks, rim-flow pool and thatched gazebos.

Palatial, air-conditioned bedroom/sitting rooms feature a fireplace and canopied king-size bed, accompanied by an extravagant bathroom with a window-side Victorian bath, and indoor and outdoor showers. Elevated walkways link the suites to the main camp.Only the wildlife witnesses guests relaxing in these private, ultra-luxurious suites.

FOOD & WINE:

The dining area and lounge overlook the water-hole and spectacular game viewing often makes up the backdrop while dining. World-class cuisine perfects the luxury experience, and all meals, local beverages and house wines are included. Indulge in a full breakfast, lunch and gourmet dinner, all expertly prepared by our award-winning chef, John Jackson. We cater for any special preferences or requests, from a favourite dish served under starlight in the boma, to a Bedouin tent bedecked with Moroccan lanterns. We have handpicked a selection of South Africa's finest wines and guests are welcome to visit our cellar and make a selection. With a staff to guest ratio of 4:1, Royal Malewane is able to offer expert personalised service of the highest order.

ACTIVITIES:

Game viewing is individually tailored, either by open Land Rover or on foot. Our expert and experienced rangers and trackers accompany the guests. All our game rangers are highly trained and qualified and Royal Malewane is privileged to have the only surviving Master Tracker currently working in Southern Africa.

The order of the day is usually:
Early morning game drive followed by a leisurely breakfast. Thereafter, guests can enjoy the luxury of the camp until lunch. Afternoon game drives include sundowners and culminate in a night drive. Dinner is served under the African sky or with silver & crystal in the dining areas.
