Named so after it was impossible to remove an enormous boulder without disturbing the environment, Boulders is literally built around the elements. Guests can enjoy wrap-around views from most parts of the coarse stone lodge, and you're bound to spot game frequently throughout your stay. The lookout deck offers the perfect spot from which to observe the surrounding landscape. The quiet pond alongside the thatched lounge area allows the light and the landscape inside to the wide open spaces, where straw baskets, neutral shades and textured fabrics complement wooden furniture, beckoning guests to enjoy peaceful afternoons. Singita Sabi Sand is situated on 18 000 hectares (45 000 acres) in the Sabi Sand Reserve alongside the Kruger National Park. Singita Ebony and Singita Boulders are located in the Sabi Sand Reserve in South Africa. This private reserve is an area known for prolific wildlife and exclusive game viewing. The Sabi Sand lies adjacent to the Kruger National Park, and the absence of fencing means that animals migrate between the two reserves. Sabi Sand is situated on the perennial Sand River and this diverse habitat is home to a wealth of animals, plants and birds. WILDLIFE: The Sabi Sand region is one of the most prolific wildlife areas in the world. The reserve boasts the 'big fi ve' and a myriad of smaller creatures. The Sabi Sand Reserve is bisected by the perennial Sand River, and game viewing is abundant in this part of the world. Groves of acacia thornveld and Marula trees give way to open expanses of grassland where zebra, antelope and wildebeest graze freely. The region is famous for its big cat activity and leopard sightings. Leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, white rhino, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, hippo, wildebeest, kudu and many other mammal and bird species occur. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Singita Boulders, also situated in the exclusive Sabi Sand Reserve, is built around the theme of nature. The lodge is beautifully appointed on the Sand River. Singita Boulders consists of; – 12 luxurious suites (24 beds). – Luxury suites consist of sumptuous bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, an expansive living area with double-sided fireplace, mini-bar and fridge, private wooden leisure decks with a private plunge pool. – All suites are air-conditioned and also offer the option of ceiling fans. – Rooms have direct dial telephones, and the library has computers and direct internet links. – The main lodge has lounge and timber deck dining areas overlooking the Sand River, a bar area and traditional open boma, gymnasium, health spa, library and wine cellar. – All rooms are equiped with a safe.
