Singita Sweni can be found on the far eastern reaches of the Kruger National Park, not too far from South Africa's border with Mozambique. Situated along 15 000 hectares (33 000 acres) in the south eastern part of the Kruger National Park, the Singita Lebombo concession is an isolated slice of pristine wilderness. This area represents one of the few remaining unexplored territories in Africa where a unique wildlife population thrives across four different eco-zones.
Like Singita Lebombo Lodge, Sweni stands only in temporary appreciation of this magnificent place. With a style that is distinctly African, Singita Sweni unites earthenware pots and ethnic artworks with contemporary pieces, against a dark palette lifted with flashes of lime, avocado and kiwi.
Built on stilts with decks of dark timber, Sweni is the smallest and most taciturn of the Singita lodges, with six supremely luxurious hides tucked away among the trees. The design of Singita Sweni was influenced by nature and its habitats. Sitting low on the Sweni River, this tranquil sanctuary is built on stilts with decks of dark timber, giving it a grounded and earthy feel.
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
There are six suites with lounge and dining area decorated with African artifacts, leather and khaki which give the suite a classic safari feel.
Luxury suites with floor-to-ceiling glass walls consist of luxurious bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, an expansive living area, mini bar and fridge, room safe and private wooden leisure decks. All suites are air-conditioned and also offer the option of ceiling fans. Rooms have direct dial telephones.
The main lodge boasts lounge and timber deck dining areas with views of the bush. There is also a bar area, a lounge area (complete with fi replace), a swimming pool and a wine cellar.
FOOD & WINE:
Guests at Singita Sweni encounter something truly original: a cuisine inspired by African flavours and yet guided by the Western culinary tradition. Menus cater to both the adventurous and more conservative tastes and all special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
Ask to visit the wine cellar, where you will fi nd an extensive array of some of South Africa's finest wines.
