Singita Sweni Lodge in the Singita Game Reserve, shares the quiet spaces and secrets of an African waterway in the dappled shade low on the banks of the Sweni River. The Singita Private Game Reserve lies in the heart of the Sabi Sand Reserve, a world-renowned wildlife Mecca on South Africa's glorious eastern escarpment, in the Province of Mpumulanga. Sabi lies adjacent to the Kruger National Park, though no fences exist between the two, allowing the animals free roam across the wild expanses. Like Singita Lebombo Lodge, Sweni stands only in temporary appreciation of this magnificent place. With a style that is distinctly African, Singita Sweni unites earthenware pots and ethnic artworks with contemporary pieces, against a dark palette lifted with flashes of lime, avocado and kiwi. Built on stilts with decks of dark timber, Sweni Lodge is the smallest and most taciturn of the Singita lodges, with six supremely luxurious hides tucked away among the trees. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: There are six suites with lounge and dining area decorated with African artefacts, leather and khaki which give the suite a classic safari feel. Each suite has its own en-suite bathroom, with outside shower, mini-bar and fridge, air-conditioning, safe and game viewing deck. FOOD & WINE: Guests at Singita Sweni Lodge encounter something truly original: a cuisine inspired by African flavours and yet guided by the Western culinary tradition. Menus cater to both the adventurous and more conservative tastes and all special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
