Klein's Camp is a small, intimate and luxurious camp that sits alone in a 10 000 hectare private concession that not only borders the Serengeti but also the Masai Mara.
It is from here that guests get to view thrilling game viewing, night drives and Maasai culture.
This remote private camp stands alone when it comes views out over the wooded hillsides, rolling grasslands and forested river banks of the surrounding concession, Serengeti and Masai Mara.
The wildlife and birdlife found in this area are beyond belief but it is the annual migration that trumps it all. Large prides of lion, as well as leopard and cheetah, are regularly spotted on game drives.
Klein's Camp is one of the more romantic offerings, perfect for those honeymoons or simply a romantic getaway.
Ten intimate cottages of made from local stone and makuti (a grass thatching) all with rich wooden floors and classic interiors. All cottages are furnished to the very highest of standards.
All cottages have an outdoor veranda that is the perfect spot to relax, have a private breakfast or dinner and simply enjoy one of the best views that money can buy.
The bathrooms are en-suite and have a shower, twin hand basins and of course a toilet.
Fine linen, silver and china sparkle in the candlelight in the open dining area while mouth-watering aromas announce the arrival of hearty meals. Fresh produce is grown in the camps' own garden, and produce flown in from local suppliers combine a culinary celebration that is truly Tanzanian.
Dinners are served in the main dining area, which is graced by a large open fireplace, or in an enchanting bush clearing deep in the heart of the African bushveld.
Bush breakfasts and private dinners are of a particular highlight should one be interested.
Klein's Camp has a large, beautifully furnished open-sided bar/sitting area with a central fireplace, just a short walk from the dining room, both with sweeping views of the valley and surrounding hills.
There is a pool and deck with stunning views tucked into the hillside, and the Safari Shop stocks locally-made Maasai crafts.
There is an excellent game viewing throughout the year. The best time to see the Great Migration at Klein’s is from June to December.
Early morning and late afternoon/ evening game drives in custom open 4x4 safari vehicles allow guest to experience all that is the Serengeti. The interesting point is that Klein's Camp is also the only lodge in the Serengeti to offer night drives.
Between one's games drives, there is the chance to stretch those legs and get out and explore the surrounding bushveld on one of the famed interpretive bush walks offered by Klein's.
An optional activity that we highly recommend guests take up is the chance to visit a local authentic Maasai community.
Children of all ages welcome at Klein's Camp; numerous wildlife and educational activities are on offer, as well as special child meals. Babysitters are available should parents want/ need a romantic dinner alone.
Note with regards to children; Malaria is present in this area, and the camp is not fenced; parents need to be extremely vigilant at all times.
Klein's Camp offers guests a small selection of in-room massages by a skilled yet small team of trained masseuses. The views from one's private suite just adds to the tranquillity of the surrounding nature that is the Serengeti.
