In a nutshell, Tulbagh is hands down my new favorite Winelands town. I arrived at The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel without even as much as looking at their website and I am glad I did. I had absolutely no preconceived idea of what the place was about, what it looked like or even where it was located.

  • The beautiful and peaceful hamlet of Tulbagh with those mountain that surround and fruit farms and vineyards as far as the eye can see. A truly stunning destination that as of yet has not been over run by mass tourism, yes a working town with exceptional beauty awaits all that visit.
  • Tulbagh Church Street

  • Tulbagh Church Street
  • It is an absolute joy walking up and down this quaint little street either with camera in hand or simply enjoying the moment. Church Street is quiet whilst the historic buildings are gorgeous. Visiting Tulbagh to only walk this street is well worth the effort of getting here.
  • Krone South Africa

  • Krone South Africa
  • In a nutshell this is a must visit spot for a little bubbly tasting when in the Tulbagh region. The tasting area is outside under oak trees with amazingly historic buildings surrounding one and views out over vineyards and onto those majestic mountains in the background.
  • Oakhurst Olive Estate

  • Oakhurst Olive Estate
  • And now for something completely different, Olive Oil Tasting. Yip you read that part right, for us this was a mind blowing experience. Never ever has we even contemplated that olive oil had so many tastes, smells and complexities yet there we where sipping Olive Oil out of shot glasses.
  • Saronsberg Wine Tulbagh

  • Saronsberg Wine Tulbagh
  • As far as wine tastings go, Saronsberg is pretty spectacular to say the least. Driving in the gate you are met by a giant of a naked man sculpture from which you wingle your way up the driveway to the parking area under trees and onto the main tasting and gallery area.
