Rooms & Suites:

Beautifully developed to merge discreetly into their adjoining valley bushveld surroundings the individual and unique suites, a few set in the Yellowwood forest and others set on the hillside featuring astonishing vistas, are located on raised wooden decks.

The eco friendly Addo Safari Lodge are built of part canvas, part recycled Brazilian pine and luxuriously furnished to stir up Hemingway’s Africa associated with yesteryear. You are invited to unwind in any of the incredibly spacious, sophisticated suites placed against the peaceful backdrop of the African bush.

Food & Wine:

Almost all meals can be appreciated in the open-sided dining area which features a bar area, looking over the actual elephants' much used waterhole.

Elephant Back Safaris:

On offer here is the electrifying encounter of riding these amazing creatures - indulge outselves in the natural splendor of the environment and its wildlife from your lofty seat as these gentle giants wander throughout the African bush.

Soon after the experience, walk with them through the varied valley bushveld, ravine and woodland environment then at the conclusion of the walk delight in a close-up perspective of the elephants swimming and frolicking in their preferred waterhole from the viewing terrace at the boma - no guarantee that an individual will not get sprayed with a trunkful of water!

Activities at Addo Elephant Safari lodge:

Guided walking trails; As cris-crossing the bush on foot delivers an completely different understanding into nature's mysterious wonders, there are three Walking Trail options available - a Leisurely Bush Walk suited to young and old alike, a Ranger's Bush Walk appropriate for anyone in average physical shape, and a more strenuous Mountain Hike geared to fit and experienced guests.

Game Drives; Knowledgeable guides create just about every chance to make sure excellent viewing during your game drive on this 7 500 hectare wildlife conservancy. Outstanding sightings of amongst others eland, gemsbok, springbok, wildebeest and zebra herds can be enjoyed across the reserve's 5 biomes which are made up of savanna grassland, valley bushveld, fynbos, riverine forest and acacia woodland.

Scenic coastal flights; on offer is an invigorating panoramic coastal flight over the Sunday's River Valley and the Woody Cape Marine Reserve with its magnificent sand dunes and indigenous surrounding Fynbos. The flight is of 40 to 50 minute duration and could also be incorporated into a Fly-In Addo Day Trip. Enquire at Reception for rates. Bookings are essential.
