Amboseli Porini Camp situated in the Selenkay Conservacy which lies a few miles north of Amboseli National Park and is an important dispersal area and rangeland for wildlife migrating out of Amboseli.
Within the conservation area the following animals have been seen recently: elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, Thompson's and Grant's gazelles, gerenuk, impala, oryx, lesser kudu, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, warthog, striped hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox, caracal, African wild cat, serval cat, genet cat, honey badger, mongoose and ostrich.
Birdlife is prolific, especially birds of prey.
Amboseli Porini Camp consists of 9 spacious tents situated under Acacia Tortilis trees. The camp is small and exclusive, accommodating a maximum of 18 guests.
The tents themselves are large and comfortably furnished, each with a double and a single bed, solar-powered electric lights, and en-suite bathroom with shower, washbasin and flush toilet.
Meals at Amboseli Porini Camp are taken under the shade of an Acacia tree and after dinner we can sit around the campfire and listen to the sounds of the African night.
There are no permanent structures like restaurants and swimming pools, a real camping in the bush experience is what awaits you.
Game drives are in specially-designed, open-sided off-road (4×4) safari vehicles with expert safari guides.
An escorted walk with Maasai warriors to visit an authentic Maasai village. Night game drives in the Selenkay Conservancy to seek out the nocturnal animals.
