Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Moremi Game Reserve
- We will depart by vehicle from Maun by 08h00; your guide will collect you from your accommodation at this time for the drive into Moremi.
- Spending our first of three nights camping in the Xakanaxa region, we explore the surrounding wilderness on game drives during the day.
- The Xakanaxa area of the Moremi Game Reserve is well known for its wildlife and birdlife.

Days 2-3: Moremi Game Reserve
- The habitat in Moremi consists of floodplains, marshes, lagoons, woodland and savannah and as a result wildlife and birdlife sighting are excellent.
- We spend these two days exploring all that is the Moremi by safari vehicle on morning and afternoon game drives.
- Moremi is amongst the best game reserves in Africa for viewing the endangered African wild dog.
- Xakanaxa is home to a resident herd of several hundred buffalo whose range covers the territories of at least four prides of lion.
- Breeding herds of elephant move between their browsing areas in the mopane forests and the fresh water of the Okavango.

Day 4: Khwai Safari Area
- Following and early morning breakfast you take a slow drive through Moremi Game Reserve north-east towards the Khwai community area.
- We spend our first of three nights wild camping in the Khwai region.
- We follow the Khwai River, on a the track weaving from the riverside and floodplains into the mopane veld and the woodlands.
- The Khwai region is without question one of the most scenic areas of the Okavango.
- Wildlife and birdlife here is spectacular.
- A late afternoon and early evening game drive is followed by dinner.

Days 5-6: Khwai Safari Area
- We spend the following two nights camping at an exclusive campsite in the community area, exploring the Khwai floodplains on game drives both during the day and at night.
- Exploring after dark with spotlights offers you an opportunity to experience some of the nocturnal animals that are rarely encountered during the day.
- We will also have the opportunity to explore the surrounding wilderness by mokoro and enjoy an up close and personal encounter with Botswana’s flora and fauna.
- Returning each night to our camp site in the wilds for dinner a sleep.

Day 7: Makgadikgadi Pans
- After an early breakfast, we will depart our camp heading back to Maun, where we will stop for lunch before heading back on the road for the final 2 hours to Makgadikgadi Pans and Meno a Kwena tented camp.
- Upon arrival at Meno a Kwena, once you have been shown to your tent, the afternoon will be at your leisure.
- You can choose to spend your first afternoon on the Boteti River on the unique floating hide where you will be able to game view from the comfort of the hide with your guide or relax in the pool overlooking the river with a sundowner, or just relax on the veranda of your tent.

Day 8: Central Kalahari Game Reserve
- After an early breakfast, you will depart Meno a Kwena for the drive to central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Passarge Valley region. - We spend the next three nights in a private camp site miles from anyone or anything else other than the local wildlife.

Days 9-10: Central Kalahari Game Reserve
- The next two days will be spent exploring the "Passarge Valley region" of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
- With 52,800 km² of protected area (the second largest in Africa) set aside, there is plenty of ground to cover, and we will be focusing on the areas surround Passarge Valley including the south west region to Tau Pan and other remote regions.
- The wide open plains are the domain of the cheetah, but lion is also frequently seen here.
- African wildcat, as well as caracal, are the more common small predators.

Days 11-12: Central Kalahari Game Reserve
- Day 11 we will be moving away from the Passarge Valley to the Deception Valley region of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
- Day 12 we spend exploring everything that Deception Valley has to offer as well (hopefully those Kalahari Lions).
- Deception Valley was made famous by Mark and Delia Owen who spent seven years in the area studying the wilderness and its inhabitants chronicled in their book, the "Cry of the Kalahari".
- Although our accommodation will be a more comfortable than the conditions the Owen’s endured during their time there, we will endeavour to learn more about the inhabitants of the area including the impressive black-maned lions of the Kalahari.

Day 13: Maun
- Today will be an early start in order to return to Maun in time for your departure flight.
- We will leave camp directly after an early breakfast and take a slow drive back to Maun which will see us in Maun at approximately 12h00.
