Echoing the tranquil tones of the mighty river, the cool colours of the lodge soothe and refresh, while warm smiles welcome you to the family. Bold, spacious suites open up to breathtaking river views and leafy boughs provide shelter for leisurely meals on the river banks. Languid hammocks on the river's edge entice guests to dream the afternoon away, while the thundering smoke of Victoria Falls murmurs an invitation to a day of adventure only an hour's drive away. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Matetsi Water Lodge is made up of three intimate lodges. Each lodge consists of just six spacious suites situated to ensure absolute privacy. Vast teak doors open onto a deck, plunge pool and magnificent view of the Zambezi River. The huge bathroom has twin hand basins, separate w.c, bath, and indoor and outdoor shower. FOOD & WINE: Dinner is enjoyed under the stars on the banks of the River. FACILITIES: The three lodges are located on the banks of the Zambezi River under a canopy of mangosteen and waterberry trees. Each lodge has its own guest area consisting of a covered open-sided thatched sitting area with fireplace. The reception and Safari Shop, with a range of African artefacts, basketware, jewellery and clothing, are situated on the banks of the river. ACTIVITIES: Twice daily game-drives in open 4x4 game viewing vehicles, daily nature walks on the Reserve led by professional rangers, exciting spotlit night drives, morning and afternoon riverboat cruises, guided canoe excursions along the Zambezi River and fishing. At the Victoria Falls guests can enjoy various activities including a helicopter flight over the Falls, bungee jumping, whitewater rafting and scenic tours of Victoria Falls and surrounding areas (these activities are at an additional cost). |
