- On the drive to Nkwali Camp, we pass through local villages, agriculture as well as wild African bush.
- Nkwali Camp is our home for the next four days.
- After checking in, lunch or high tea awaits.
- An introductory afternoon game drive into the South Luangwa National Park is what we have been waiting for.
- Overnight: Nkwali Camp
Days 2-4: South Luangwa
- The next few days are in general spent game viewing, either by vehicle or by legendary bush walking safaris.
- Breakfasts, mid-morning and afternoon teas, coffees and cakes, lunches and dinners are par for the course.
- Each day we enter the National park from our private concession via either the nearby pontoon or by boat over the Luangwa River.
- The game in the area is excellent - and includes many family herds of elephants and the endemic species of giraffe, the Thornicroft Giraffe.
- We at Uyaphi.com can highly recommend morning bush walks, the terrain is flat, the guides are brilliant and the wildlife abounds around every corner.
- Game drives are recommended in the late afternoons and early evenings, as one gets to move greater distances to see the Big cats.
- Overnight: Nkwali Camp
Day 5: Zambezi River
- We leave the South Luangwa and fly in the direction of the Lower Zambezi National Park.
- Chongwe River Camp is our home for the next three days, located on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi rivers.
- Arriving in time for lunch with vistas over this spectacular valley.
- As an afternoon activity, we suggest a boat safari along the Zambezi River culminating in sunset drinks on the river itself.
- Back in time for an alfresco dinner and chat around the campfire
- Overnight: Chongwe River Camp
Days 6-7: Zambezi River
- Your days on the Lower Zambezi are spent taking part in some of the most diverse wildlife activities found anywhere in Africa.
- Canoeing down the Zambezi River is certainly a must.
- Morning and afternoon game drives into the Lower Zambezi National Park
- Fishing for Africa's premier game fish, the Tigerfish can grow as big as 10-12 kg (catch and release policy is in place).
- And last but certainly not least, sun-downer boat trips are a perfect end to your days here in Zambia.
- Overnight: Chongwe River Camp
Day 8: Safari Ends
- After breakfast and farewell.
- A drive through the park to the airstrip to meet the plane taking you to Lusaka (30 min) for your onward flight.
