SAFARI HIGHLIGHTS:
An adventurous canoe safari through the flood plains of the middle Zambezi River encompassing both day and night game drives, a walk and a visit to a traditional fishing village.

Departure: Scheduled and tailor-made departure dates.
Duration: 5 Days / 4 Nights.
Accommodation: Camping.
Distance covered: +- 78km
Canoeing experience: No previous canoeing experience is necessary
Group Size: Minimum 2.
Note: Travel insurance is compulsory for all safaris.

DAY 1: Lower Zambezi River
» Meet 10.30/11:00 Oasis or 11:00/11:30 Zambezi Breezers
» Guide briefing followed by light lunch, canoeing orientation
» Canoe through to evening camp, effectively a half day canoeing
» Canoe approximately 14km to evening camp - canoe paddle is primarily used to familiarize the group with the canoe
» Overnight Kakomalala

DAY 2: Lower Zambezi River
» Canoeing starts early after morning tea/coffee and biscuits
» Depart Island camp for downstream breakfast stop at approx 08:30
» Continue though to shaded lunch stop from approx 12:30 to 14:30 out of mid day sun.
» Proceed to mainland fly camp for overnight canoeing stop (Kayila Fly Camp)
» Dinner followed by an evening game drive at around 20:00/21:00

DAY 3: Lower Zambezi River
» Early tea/coffee followed by approx 2 hour walk 06:30 to 08:30
» Return to Camp for Breakfast 09:30
» Depart for village Tour 11:00 to 12.30
» Picnic lunch on the Zambezi Escarpment over looking the Zambezi Valley
» Game drive back to camp before a short canoe trip to Mtondo Island

DAY 4: Lower Zambezi River
» Early morning tea/coffee & biscuits
» Depart Camp 09:00/10:00 for full day canoeing
» Arrive at Kayila Fly Camp at approx 17:00
» Overnight at Kayila Fly Camp

DAY 5: Safari ends
» Early morning tea/coffee & biscuits
» Early morning bush drive back through Game Management Area passing traditional villages and school en-route
» Road transfer to Zambezi Breezers +- 3hrs

» All meals, cordials and treated municipal water are supplied in containers
» Complimentary local wine is provided with evening dinner
» Cooler boxes and ice are provided
» Clients may purchase additional beverages prior to the start of the safari
