Kafue National Park Lodges
Safari Lodges And Camps In Zambia's Oldest And Largest National Park, The Fabled Kafue
Zambia's oldest National Park and also the largest (incidentally the second largest National Park in the world), Kafue National Park was proclaimed in 1950 and covers in the region of 22 400 square kilometres. From the astounding Busanga Plains in the North-western section of the Kafue to the tree-choked wilderness and the lush dambos of the south and the Kafue River. This is one destination that is a must when visiting Zambia.
This park sustains huge herds of diverse wildlife. Large prides of lions, solitary leopards and cheetahs are the prime predators. There is a host of smaller carnivores from the side-striped jackal, civet, genet and various mongoose.
Access to most (if not all the safari lodges in the Kafue) is by light aircraft, this just goes to show how large and remote this Kafue actually is, these are included as part and parcel of the safari package when booking (but not in the price of the lodge or camp).
The Kafue National Park is home to a variety of safari lodges and tented camps, each offering its own unique experience. Among the most popular are the luxury lodges, which offer guests stunning views of the park's wildlife and landscapes. Additionally, there are several tented camps located in prime areas for game viewing. These camps provide an intimate and authentic safari experience, with guests often spending their days tracking wildlife on foot. Whichever type of safari lodge or bush camp you choose, a stay in the Kafue National Park is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
The handful of Kafue lodges that we offer guarantees you an exclusive wildlife experience like no other, if the sense of complete and utter remoteness is what you seek, then Kafue is the destination when on a Zambia safari. Part and parcel of our ever-growing Zambia lodges portfolio.
Wildlife safari activities in the Kafue National Park include game drive safaris, boat cruise options, sunset drinks, bush picnics and dinners, hot air ballooning over the Basunga Plains as well as canoeing trips.
Kafue National Park is one of the most unspoilt and under-rated safari destinations in Africa! With an abundance of wildlife including some of the largest herds of elephants (alos including leopard, lion, Cape buffalo, wild dog and cheetah to mention a few), this park should be on everyone's list when planning a safari to Zambia.
The safari lodges and camps located within the park are all luxurious and provide stunning views overlooking the savannah. For a more intimate and authentic experience, there are also several tented camps located in prime areas for game viewing.
No matter which type of lodge or camp you choose, a stay in the Kafue National Park is sure to be an unforgettable experience!
