Looking out across golden sands to the azure Indian Ocean and Zanzibar beyond, lies the only coastal game park in Tanzania, with animals ranging from green turtles and dolphins to elephant, sable, roan, buffalo and lion. On safari, the wildlife experience between the areas will also vary greatly, from unusual game drives and walks along coastal areas and mangroves to exploring sandy rivers, oxbow lakes and grasslands of the great Selous or Mikumi. DAY 1: DAR ES SALAAM

DAY 2: SAADANI NATIONAL PARK
» Transfer to Saadani by road
» Afternoon game activity
» Saadani National Park, is Tanzania's most recently gazetted national park, Saadani is the only national park in East Africa with ocean frontage and therefore, the only place that can genuinely lay claim to offering beautiful beaches and safari in a single location
» Geographically it is the closest National Park to both Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar and as it is a coastal park it is the only place one can see wildlife and birdlife interacting on the coast.
» There are at least 24 species of large mammals found here and the beach area is a breeding ground for the green turtle
» The safari lodge is comfortably furnished and delightfully perched on the edge of the ocean, a stones-throw from all the wonders of the park

DAY 5: SELOUS
» Transfer back to Dar
» After lunch fly to Selous, followed by a game drive
» The Selous is four times the size of the Serengeti and possesses a diverse landscape from hot
volcanic springs, sporadic lakes, channels from the Great Ruaha and Rufiji rivers
» Walking is permitted(with an armed ranger) which with over 350 species of bird and 2,000 species of plants to see makes this the most heavenly sanctuary to explore

DAY 6: SELOUS
» Morning and afternoon game activities
» The Selous reserve contains about one third of all the wild dogs (often called painted dogs), in the world
» Their need to roam vast areas and their formidable hunting skills have caused many to be shot by farmers, but here in the Selous they have boundless woodlands and savannah in which to roam

DAY 7: SELOUS

» In the dry season an ancient migration of elephants takes place between the Selous and
Mozambique's Niassa Game Reserves
» This is one of the largest natural trans-boundary eco-systems
in Africa and at the last consensus it was estimated that 64,400 elephants roam the two parks,
with 84% on the Tanzanian side
