It soon became obvious that he would have to share! The camp is set in Borassus palms and Tamarind trees and provides superb comfort, wonderful wildife and dining under the stars beside the rippling Rufiji river. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: FOOD & WINE: FACILITIES: There is a large and comfortable thatched low-slung building with wide verandahs where there is a relaxed open plan area with a well stocked bar, dining room and plenty of planters' chairs and sofas so that you can scan the river and banks for game, drink in hand. ACTIVITIES: activities include bird watching; photography; walking safaris; and fishing Tiger Fish and Vandu (in the rivers of the Kilombero Game Controlled Area to the west of the reserve). The Selous is four times the size of the Serengeti and possesses a diverse landscape from hot volcanic springs, sporadic lakes, channels from the Great Ruaha and Rufiji rivers. Walking is permitted (with an armed ranger) which with over 400 species of bird and 2,000 species of plants to see makes this the most heavenly sanctuary to explore. |
