At Manta Reef Lodge its you, the ocean, nature and a few other nice people. Good food, a well stocked bar, lots of sea safaris, a excellent dive shop, a small spa, and most important of all our staff who are the heart of the operation are all here and really love what they do.
Manta Reef Lodge is focused around a large open plan relaxing area that welcomes you to the sea. Life on Pemba revolves around the ocean tides, and as the day progresses you will witness the ever changing colors and shades of blue and green as the tide comes in and goes, and fishing boats gosail up and down.

You have a spacious lounge and verandah to sit, lay down, read, relax, eat, drink, or whatever you like to do on holiday. We try not to encourage it, but we also do keep an internet facility at the reception for you... if you must return to reality.
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
All rooms at Manta Reef Lodge have hot and cold water showers, Italian ceramic tiled floors and walls, lounger chairs to sit read and relax, dressing tables, and cupboards to put clothes away comfortably, and large 4 poster beds with fans right behind the beds sweeping across them with cool air in case the breeze is not "on" as well as a large standard fan in the corner.
A Garden room is set in the gardens, with a private makuti coconut hatch covered terrace. It is, as you will see, finished in a cool all white finish. The "Barazza" lounger also acts as a third bed, and there is room to add a 4th bed, if its for a family. (4 rooms in total, ideal for families with children).
The sea front rooms face directly over the ocean. They have plenty of room to add a third bed. We have set them all in a normal 2 person occupancy booking, and only add them if there is a booking as a triple, or twin request. (10 rooms in total)
The honeymoon bungalow is our finest sea front accommodation. It's views, space, and facilities speak for itself. (1 available)
FOOD & WINE:
Things are pretty casual about meal times, mostly its on the verandah and some times we do have dinners on the beach tides permitting. A beach drinks service is offered all day as well.
ACTIVITIES:
The best snorkleing is to be seen at the entrance of the islands off western Pemba such as Njao and fundu, and especially Mesli island .The coral is excellent, the coral fish life abounds. The best way is to visit at low tide and get as close to the coarl as possible and have the ocean as shalow as possible.
Fishing galore: Close to shore along the west coast, immediately off Pembas beaches, regular catches include rainbow runners, bonito, kingfish, Barracuda and wahoo.
Use the latest in Kayak designs to discover the crystal blue waters of the west coast of Pemba from Manta Reef Lodge.
