Cape Town Beaches

When in Cape Town go to the beach. Why not? All our beaches are free and some are even "Blue Flag Beaches". Spend a few hours just relaxing under the African sun with no cares or worries, that that is what we call relaxing. A great few hours out for the whole family.

Clifton and Camps Bay are two of the more popular destinations for beach lovers and for good reason, these are the two spots to show off those bronzed bodies, play volleyball, soccer or rugby or simply just lie back and relax.

If you are not into busy beaches then there are plenty of other options for you, we recommend the False Bay side as one can actually swim here as the waters are warmer. Muizenberg, Kalk Bay (tidal pools) and Simon's Town have fantastic little beaches on offer.

There is also a little spot called Sandy Bay, this is were people who like to go "KaalGat" (Naked in Afrikaans) can go to feel the sun shine on their nether regions.

Note: For our Northern Hemisphere friends, the sun down this side of the world is STRONG. Use anything below Factor 25 and you will get burnt to a crisp (been there, done that and have the T-shirt as proof).

Pros; Glorious African sunshine, Golden sun tans, White sandy beaches, Bikini's.
Cons; Atlantic Ocean side is rather chilly year round, Some beaches get rather full, Sun Burn.

Open all year round
Adult - Free
Children - Free
