Traveling Around Cape Town

Vehicle Hire

Vehicle Hire
By far and away our clients most popular option when in Cape Town is to hire their own car. Self driving offers up freedom to do what you want when you want and with Cape Town's incredibly road network that is in very good condition one has the independence and confidence to explore at you own pace.

Private Guide

Private Guide
The one aspect that self driving Cape Town lacks is having a guide that offers up intimate knowledge the Cape Town's history, scenic spots and general all round information. This is where a private guide comes into play, you can hire a professional guide for a half day, full day or even a week, the choice is yours.

Metered Taxis

Metered Taxis
Licensed taxi companies are a dime a dozen here in old Cape Town and are great for a short trip out at night or down to a local attraction. Your hotel will suggest the best company to use, we always recommend a company called Rikkis. Taxi companies are not the best option for those longer tours around the Cape Peninsula.

Uber Cape Town

Uber Cape Town
Everyone's favorite people moving company is here in South Africa and especially Cape Town. So if you use Uber at home you can use Uber in Cape Town, same App, same credit card. In all honesty this is the way forward if you are comfortable with the service. Again not the best option for those longer tours around the Cape Peninsula.

City Sightseeing Bus

City Sightseeing Bus
Cape Town's very own sightseeing bus that is probably one of the easiest and cheapest ways of getting around too the cities more popular attractions. The buses run set circuits and you jump on and off the bus as it suits you. Kirstenbosch, Table Mountain, Camps Bay, V&A waterfront are just a few of the stops en-route.

Motorbike Rentals

Motorbike Rentals
Motorbike rentals and tours are very popular down here in Cape Town and for good reason, the mountain passes, the large expansive Karoo and those long west coast road are like nothing you have ever seen before. If riding is a passion then contact us and we will guide through the best options, routings and pricing.

Harley-Davidson Rentals

Harley-Davidson Rentals
Harley Davidson's were made for conquering Cape Town's roads, rent a Harley for a day or two or better still join a Harley Davidson tour around the Cape Peninsula or out to the Cape Winelands. Options range from Electra Glide® Ultra Limited, Road King®, Street Glide® Special, Road Glide® Special and Heritage Softail®.

Sidecar Tours

Sideway Tours
Okay, picture this for something a little different. Touring around Cape Town, the Cape peninsula and the Cape Winelands in a 1960's vintage Red Army 750cc motorbike with sidecar. All sidecar tours are chauffeured by experience riders and guides and offer that something very different. To be honest, what a way to explore the Cape.

On Foot

On Foot
One of the more ancient and traditional ways of getting from point A to B. Going for a walk in and around Cape Town is quite often a pleasurable experience, especially along the coastal suburbs, beaches or V&A waterfront. There are also numerous hiking trails on Table Mountain herself all the way down to Cape Point.

By Bicycle

By Bicycle
Honestly, cycling around Cape Town's CBD and busy suburbs is not recommended, South Africa drivers are not very good when it comes to sharing roads. But on saying that, cycling through the Winelands, mountain bike the surrounding mountains or even cycling through the Cape Point Reserve will be a highlight for years to come.

MyCiti Bus

MyCiti Bus
The MyCiti Bus option is more along the lines public transport for locals but this has never stopped the a visitor to Cape Town getting the best priced transportation on offer. The most popular routes for the MyCiti Bus are the Airport route and the West Coast route. Again this option is mainly for locals commuting.

Metrorail Trains

Metrorail Trains
All of the Metrorail routing (bar one) are not suitable for international visitors to the city of Cape Town as the main purpose of rain travel is for locals to get to work. But we have listed it because of the Muizenberg to Simon's Town route which is one of the more scenic rail journeys in the country.
