The unique 'Beach and Wilderness' experience in a hidden corner of sub-tropical Africa is provided by the 30 000 hectares of pristine marine and wildlife territory. This diverse eco-system of wilderness and wetland, with its powder white beaches and crystal clear water is host to a magnificent array of fish, dolphin and very importantly, the nearly extinct 'Dugong'. Shallow and deepwater reefs reveal beautiful creatures such as the leatherback turtle, sailfish, manta ray, to name a few. Dugong Beach Lodge is perched right on the edge of the beach is an idyllic setting with ten luxury tents built on raised decks in the shade of Msasa Trees with Jecka grass canopies. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: The Lodge offers 12 luxuriously appointed, air-conditioned chalets with direct access to the beach via individual walkways. (14 bedrooms, as two units are villas consisting of 2 bedrooms). Each Villa has 2 bedrooms and a plunge pool. All rooms have outdoor showers and twin beds can be converted to double beds. Each chalet has a private deck furnished with day beds for relaxation or wellness treatments and where private dinners can be enjoyed. There is an interflowing swimming pool with an island-style bar and martini seats with spectacular views of the ocean. FOOD & WINE: The lounge and restaurant on raised Mahogany timber decks with a jetty jutting out into the protected Vilanculos Bay, afford one breath taking views of the ever-changing colours and hues of the water, whilst enjoying sea-food and local Portuguese cuisine. Beach dinners and Picnics are available on request (please request as they are well worth it).
