DAY 1:
» We will drive or fly to the Karisia Hills, a thickly forested range stretching for 40 kilometres near Maralal (home of the Maralal Camel Derby in August).
» Next, we will drive to the camp on the edge of the forest and spend the afternoon exploring the area, birdwatching and perhaps see Warthogs, Eland or Grevy's Zebra.
» The plains below the hills are home to the Samburu people and they graze their livestock on the edges of the forest. An evening visit to a manyatta is easily arranged. Camp at Lolkejeta.

DAY 2:
» After breakfast we will walk up into the forest enjoying birds such as the Hartlaub's Turaco, Black and White Hornbill and possibly even a Crowned Eagle.
» The forest is full of ancient, old-growth Podocarpus trees and Strangler Figs and we shall learn of the medicinal uses of the plants by our Samburu trackers. The forest is home to Buffalo and Elephant, which we might see if we are lucky.
» We will have a picnic on an ancient rock outcrop used for millennium as a lookout before taking another route down to a new camp called Rapa, at the foot of the hills.

DAY 3:
» We will wake early and walk along the edge of the forest before dropping down into the drier country to the east of the Karisia Hills.
» The scenery changes dramatically and at the bottom it is much drier with a lot of Acacia Tortillis.
» We will camp on the Suiyan Lugga (a seasonal sand river), digging for crystal clear water for the showers and basins.
» Here we might see Klipspringer perched on the rocks and maybe some Stone Partridges in the evening.

DAY 4:
» Walk down the Suiyan Lugga to where the Suiyan meets the Seya Lugga.
» Continue up the Seya Lugga until we reach a third lugga, the Chanook, where we often see Lion and Wilddog tracks.
» In the evening, go out looking for Greater Kudu who like this area but are shy and hard to approach.

DAY 5:
» Walk up the Chanook onto the edge of the Leroghi Plateau before dropping down to Ngoteya, a stunning high area of vistas, where we will camp.
» We will look out for sign of Wild Dog as they like to frequent this area.
» We will have sundowners on a high rock with stunning views across northern Kenya, looking back over the many miles we will have traversed.

DAY 6:
» Today we will be descending to the Ewaso Nyiro River.
» This is a dramatic walk through a steep canyon and a likely place for us to spy a Klipspringer or a Greater Kudu on the rocky slopes.
» Picnic brunch under some ancient Neutonia trees and the chance to see some enormous crocodiles or wallowing Hippos - We won't be swimming here.
» After a good exploration of the river we will walk back up to Ngoteya for a rest before sundowners on top of Ngoteya's massive rock outcrop.

DAY 7: Karisia Hills to Ewaso Walking Safari ends
» After a leisurly breakfast we will drive to The Muridjo Airstrip for your onward charter and your next adventure.
