Greatly renown for its annual wildebeest migration, Big Five, Sarova Mara offers a breathtaking view of the plains aloft a hot air balloon. Mara Sarova Game Camp boasts an extensive collection of exotic birds and butterflies that have taken up residence in the lush surroundings. Other facilities include a restaurant, 2 bars, lounge, swimming pool shop and conference facility. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Club Tents; Club Tents offer breathtaking views of the Mara plains. They are luxurious and extremely spacious decorated in whites and soothing earthy colors with large beds, loungers, wardrobes and a desk. Bathrooms are appointed with his and her sinks and a bath in addition to the shower. Club Tents have glass panel doors and a deck outside for game viewing and private dining. Standard Tents; Standard Tents are large and comfortable, tastefully furnished with double and twin beds, wardrobes, writing desk and safari chairs. Family Tents; Family tents are two in one sharing a spacious common lounge overlooking a lovely pond teeming with birds. One tent has a double bed and the other has a twin with space to fit a third bed for a family with children. FOOD & WINE: The Main restaurant serving buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with live cooking counters preparing specialty dishes, cuisine includes continental. The Salad buffet has a wide variety of salads using the freshest ingredients and herbs from the Camp's own vegetable and herb garden. The Dessert Buffet has a selection of mouthwatering desserts. FACILITIES: Spread over acres, Sarova Mara Game Camp is set on an elevation surrounded by two streams. The Camp is uniquely laid out over the sprawling grounds that include rolling manicured greens, a virtual mini forest of indigenous shrubs and exotic trees, a large pond stocked with fish, mini bird sanctuary and an authentic Maasai Village adjoining the Camp. ACTIVITIES: Game Drives; The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is the natural habitat for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, hippo, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, giraffe and many others. Our excellently trained guides and drivers will ensure a memorable game drive in specially equipped safari Land rover vehicles stocked with binoculars, books and a cooler box. We also offer a packed picnic lunch for guests who want to go for a leisurely game drive. Hot Air Balloon Safaris; A hot air balloon ride is one of the most amazing ways to experience the Maasai Mara. Balloon safaris are ideally suited to the Maasai Mara as the open, treeless, plains allow many of the animals to be seen from the air and viewed from an altitude of several thousand feet, the savannah scenery is breathtaking. Balloon Safaris take off just before dawn so that you are high above the plains in time for sunrise. Flights lasts for approximately one hour drifting wherever the air current stake you. Once back on terra firma, the flight is celebrated with a glass of champagne and a breakfast in the bush. Walking Safaris; A selection of long walks on the nature trails within the greater Mara area along the periphery of the park. The walks center on the wildlife, bird-life, plant-life as well as topography that the Maasai Mara is famous for. The duration of these walks is approximately 2 1/2 hrs to 3 hrs covering a distance of 9 - 15kms, and includes a packed lunch and game drives enroute to and from the walking safari location. |
