Tropical gardens drop onto the white sandy shores of the Indian Ocean below where waters are calm due to the coral barrier reef - a haven for divers. The resort offers a wide range of high quality accommodation, a choice of dining and entertainment venues - including the award winning 'Chui Grill' - as well as extensive sporting and leisure facilities ranging from diving to golf. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Dotted throughout the vast 25 acres of magnificent tropical gardens are 158 comfortable and welcoming rooms, radiating tasteful colour schemes which range from fresh citrus-lemon and sky-blue, through romantic ruby and jade to soft terracotta an rattan. Every room is excellently furnished and includes a bath, shower and bidet, air conditioning, multi channel satellite television, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, mosquito nets and a well-stocked mini-bar. FOOD & WINE: Here your gastronomic safari begins - a choice of settings and flavours to entice the most demanding palate. Three table-d'hôte venues are rotated throughout the week: a buffet or set-menu in the Horizon Restaurant and Terrace, dine al fresco on the Coco Beach BBQ, or enjoy an African cultural night with traditional dishes on the 'Nyama Choma' terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. The la carte options are just as varied. Our award winning Chaines des Rotisseurs speciality restaurant, the 'Chui Grill' offers fresh seafood and grills in a teak-timbered deck overlooking the lilly ponds - fine dining at its finest and perfect for that romantic meal. For lunch, sample our stir-fries at Coco Mchana on Coco Beach or try our Italian speciality restaurant - Pizza 'n' Pasta Tornati. And of course there's our Pool Bistro and Bar, offering a wide selection of snacks and light meals as well as fresh seafood and grills. If you've any room left, our ice cream bar may just tempt you to postpone your diet until after your holiday! UZURI SPA FACILITIES: Uzuri Spa and Fitness Forest offers a luxurious combination of original African products and European style treatments. The spa menu covers a comprehensive range of treatments for men and women from TheraNaka massage therapies - specially designed for Uzuri, to Theravine anti-ageing facials, hydrotherapy, body wraps and of course waxing, manicures and pedicures. Uzuri comprises four treatment rooms including a Double VIP room for couples. All treatment rooms have an outside courtyard for al-fresco massages, each with showers that complement the hydro baths located in some of the rooms. ACTIVITIES: For the active, there is on offer two floodlit tennis courts, a splendid 18-hole golf course next to the resort, and a full-time "Animation Team" organising volleyball, water polo, table tennis, gymnastics and aerobics. Or why not learn to dive? The in-house diving school is a PADI Center which offers a range of courses for adults and children as well as a host of water sports, including: windsurfing, kite surfing, kayaking, pedelos and snorkelling; not to mention big game fishing beyond the reef and glass-bottom boats trips. Explore Kenya 's past and visit some of our historical monuments such as Fort Jesus or Gedi Ruins, or take a day trip to Shimba Hills National Reserve where elephants roam the picturesque rain forest. |
