ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
40 hemingway-style safari tents (28 classic safari tents and 12 luxury tents) with ensuite bathroom. The tents are spacious and have a shower, hand basin and w.c. Each tent has two extralength three-quarter beds. Each luxury tent has a double bed that can convert to twins.
FOOD & WINE:
Meals packed with fresh ingredients and flavoured with aromatic spices are served in the simple but elegant dining room, open to the warm breezes coming off the Mara or beneath a myriad stars looking out onto the African plains.
FACILITIES:
The guest area includes a reception, Safari Shop, bar/sitting room and indoor/outdoor dining area, all of which overlook endless, game-filled plains and are shaded by a dense forest canopy, with the Oloololo Escarpment in the background. There is a large sparkling swimming pool set among trees, surrounded by lawns and a breathtaking views.
Classic safari interiors illuminated by soft lantern light open up onto majestic African landscapes. Each suite offers an en suite bathroom with stone shower, flagstone floors, soft lighting and separate w.c. in the luxury tents. Spacious private verandas provide a shady viewpoint onto the magnificent grasslands or the wooded banks of the Sabaringo River and the passing wildlife (luxury tents only). Hammocks strung in the grounds or around the gracious swimming pool invite you for an afternoon nap.
ACTIVITIES:
Morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, birdwatching and daily lectures by a Maasai naturalist. Optional excursions at an additional cost include night game-drives on the lodge's private concession, guided walking trails up and along the Oloololo escarpment, a Maasai community visit, sundowners at a location with spectacular views across the Mara and hot
air ballooning.
