We got back from South Africa yesterday and we had such a wonderful time. We absolutely loved Cape Town and we had great fun at the games we went to.
We want to thank you for providing us with a fantastic safari experience. Everything went so well - the driver to and from Jo'Burg, Ronald, was very polite, friendly and professional and the driver/guide for the safari, Lodrick, was excellent and did everything possible to get us some good sightings (though we still never saw a leopard); the lodge was lovely (though we were out so much on drives that we did not get to spend much time there). Again, the staff were great - and they made Keith's birthday really special - not only with the cake I had ordered (which was so huge we shared it with German guests and some of the staff!) but they decorated our room with rose petals and provided some bubbly and a basket of fruit.
So, thanks to you and everyone else.

Returned to US on Saturday. A little concerned with the BA strike but our flight was OK. Just wanted to let you know that we had an outstanding time. The accommodations were great, the food so-so and Bollings folks were exceptional.
The safari guide we had, his mane was Peter was just the best. Very informative and committed to his customers.
Not sure when we will return but when we do we will for sure use your services again.

We had a fantastic trip, largely due to your expertise and great planning. Air Botswana did arrange our accommodations and Mack Air was very helpful. Beverly from Mack Air actually met us at the airport in Maun that night and helped us feel much calmer.
We were really impressed with all of the lodges your chose for us. Pom Pom was delightful for its remoteness and rugged luxury. Muchenje, our favorite stop was absolutely perfect and completely fulfilled our elephant viewing wishes. The David Livingstone Lodge was certainly a nice bit of luxury at the end of the trip, but could not outshine the majesty of Victoria Falls. The Falls are truly the star of the show. We can't wait to go back and have more adventures.
Thank you so much for all your help and constant contact with us to make our honeymoon a success. We have already recommended Uyaphi to several people and will continue to do so.

Thanks for your email received when we arrive home last week. Hard to believe that it is all over now until next time, but it is good to get home to our own bed, cooking and of course the 2 little grandsons!
We so please to meet you and James when we popped in to the office in Muizenberg. Sorry we missed Verity - perhaps another time.
Thank you so much for all you did in arranging our tour. It was absolutely fantastic and a route from Jo'burg to Cape Town that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. It was certainly more interesting than the straight drive down through the Karoo and the timing (10 days) was dead right. Also the overnight destinations...

It was really sad to come home after such a great trip to Kenya! You had organized everything perfectly! On arrival in Nairobi, two Pollman’s guys picked us up and took us to the hotel. The PanAfric Hotel was aged, but had nice staff. A curiosity is that the police-force in Nairobi had their annual party in the hotel-garden. We felt very secure that first evening!
The next day we visited Karen and the Norfolk, in the evening Carnivore. Great! In Carnivore we came upon a norwegian-kenyan wedding which was fun.
After a second night at the hotel we were introduced to our safari guide, mr. Jonnes Mwarema. He is a very nice man; discreet, intelligent with a very nice humor, he was our man! He gave us a sightseeing in Nairobi before we headed out of town. On the way to Nakuru, he took us to Lake Naivasha for a boattrip and walking safari. This was off schedule and a great "safari-light" experience! The Sarova Lion Hill Lodge at Lake Nakuru was very nice with excellent staff. They were smiling and friendly all the time. The safari trips with our guide was exciting, but unfortunately there were not many flamingoes. Another safari-car with zebra camouflage driving together with us got hit buy a buffalo!!
It was sad to leave the lodge, we could have stayed much longer! The roadtrip to Masai Mara was unforgettable. Nakuru city, heavy traffic, the road, villages and people almost everywhere! The last part of the trip was not comfortable, but Jonnes drove perfectly! At the Sarova Mara Camp we got the best tents, mine had been used by the vice-president of Kenya, the prime minister and Sir Richard Branson (Virgin Atlantic). The staff spoiled us, I do not really know why they treated us so nicely!
We made many safari-trips in Masai mara. We did not see any leopards, but the other Big V we spotted. Lions making love, a gepard running after a fox (the fox did escape!), troops of elephants walking across the road and of course many other animals. Jonnes took us to a Masai village, which was very interesting and different from Norway....
We went by air from a Masai airstrip to Ukunda, a fantastic flight! Very african: informal and nice pilots, no security hassle, etc. It was sad to leave Jonnes at the airstrip after these hectic and very, very nice days. Jonnes gave us an unforgettable safari experience and we miss him a lot! I believe we all think about him almost every day! Strange, but true!
At Baobab (Diani) we got a down-trip. Every thing was just fine there, but it was such a great change compared to the safari lodges... We have never been to a resort before! You were right .., the standard bungalows were nice...Well, after a day we felt better and I think we got used to the easy going life at the resort. Smiling and friendly staff, good food, funny monkeys, but not so good wine and Gin....
I went with the kids to a shopping-mall Saturday evening just before closing-time. We found shirts, polo-shirts, hats and quite many Kikois. The Kikois were not knotted, so I asked the ladies in the shop how to do this. Very nice women eating Haribo candy. They would usually knot, but they were closing the shop in 15 minutes, so it was difficult to get it done. One of the ladies asked if we could come and get them the next afternoon. We were leaving the next day, and we had planned a snorkeling-trip in the morning. She decided to deliver the Kikois the next morning at the hotel on her way to church. I paid her for the taxi. We went into the grocery shop buying Kenyan coffee. They had a wide range of Haribo candy also. We bought some packages and threw them through the closing door to the ladies in the shop. They were very happy!! The same evening they called us from the reception that a lady had left a packaged to us, the Kikois!!
It was really strange to come back home after such a fantastic holiday. The Kenyan people are really nice and warm. I have not been able to write this until now because I find it hard to find words that are good enough to tell the story. I probably did not find the right words, but here is a short review from our fantastic holiday.
We have already told some people about www.uyapi.com, so I am sure you get in touch with someone else from Norway.
Please let me know, ..if you would like me to send the story or another version of the story to your website or to tripadvisor or somewhere else. I would really like to recommend you to other people.”

With apologies for the delay, I wanted to send a belated thank you for all your help and advice in arranging what was a most memorable (and enjoyable) trip. The safari was fantastic, our guide both terrifically knowledgeable and friendly and the rest of the staff wonderfully pleasant and unobtrusive.
While some of our group expected the mobile safari tents to mirror the elegance of the permanent tents at Karibu Lodge, everyone was a good sport and many felt the mobile tenting experience added authenticity to being in the bush rather than staying at the elegant lodges in the park.
Our time in South Africa was terrifically illuminating; a society that has undergone massive social change in impressive if imperfect ways. Capetown was magnificent and the people at the hotel eager to help.
Our group is starting to edit, share and circulate our thousands of pictures. I'll send some along after we whittle them down.
It was a trip we will always treasure and thanks again for your patience in helping to make it happen.

My trip was super. Many thanks for all your arrangements. Below are some quick "takes." I will send you a virtual post card that I have sent to friends - that will follow this email.
Premier Train - It was all that I hoped for and a bit more. Very comfortable though snug quarters. Food was very good and staff was friendly and attentative. The trip itself is beautiful and a very relaxed way to make one's journey from Cape Town to Jo/berg. Highly recommend and believe it is a good value.
Outlook Guest House - Was wonderful that they met me at the train to transport me to the guesthouse. The location is a bit remote, especially since they have closed the dinning room for all but breakfast - which was well done and fine. The rooms were very comfortable and nice appointed. I did have two different style rooms in my two stays, one was more "lush" than the other. But that was fine by me. Staff was very friendly. One concern is the front desk/reception is not consistently staffed. So there were times that I needed something and could not find anyone. I could manage this but if someone is not comfortable about this circumstance they may find this very in convenient.
Africa on Foot - It was exactly what I was looking for. The staff was great, helpful and attentive and knowledgable. The camp itself was comfortable and meals were well prepared. I knew that this was not a luxury facility and did not have electricity etc - that was all fine by me. I again would recommend this to others.
So I hope that give you a picture of the pieces that you helped arrange. I found Zimbabwe also quite interesting and an adventure in many manners.
Thanks once again...

I also want to thank you for suggesting the Tau Game Lodge in Madikwe. We all had a great time, and the African Bush really made a big impression on my 2 "Austalian citizen" kids. My wife and I also rekindled the great African Bush...
We were allocated to the head ranger who has been at Tau for 6 years. He showed us so much of Africa's secrets you just couldn't believe. The highlight was detecting the build-up and then kill of a large Wildebees male, by a male lion just 4 meters away, under the torch light of our ranger...a rare experience indeed!.”

Just a quick note to say that the vacation went extremely well and we were pleased with the outcome. Despite all the odd transfers etc all the baggage caught up with us efficiently - probably due to the reliable Benson at Gamewatchers. Porini Amboselli is desperately dry and much less rewarding than the Mara - unless they get good rains, that location may not be one you should be recommending in 2010.
I have written a glowing review of Tijara on tripadvisor.com and would be happy to write a positive review of Uyaphi for Kenya vacations if you have a preferred location for such things...
I would very strongly recommend Tijara as a perfect decompression experience for couples who want total peace and quiet after a hectic safari schedule. However, it would be a disaster for party-goer types as it is totally isolated!!

Well, we had an absolutely FANTASTIC trip and an experience we will never
forget. So many highlights from a rhino walking through our camp on the
first night, hearing lions roaring in our camp in the early morning,
smelling a dead elephant, great game viewing (and a fabulous guide in
Moremei), seeing the big five, amazing bird life, lovely people who made us
feel very welcome, fantastic sunsets, flight of angels over Victoria Falls,
walking with lions on Eleanor's birthday (the list is endless), and the
cold. No one on our trip realised how cold the evenings and early mornings
could be, nor did we expect to eat so many of our meals outside, so we all
suffered. I would definitely recommend taking many more layers next time...
However, this far outweighs all the many magical moments we had. We have
just spent the weekend trying to organise our 1600 photos! We were very sad
to leave the safari and we all very much want to do another trip in the
future. We just need to save the money!...
And Cape Town was great fun too. We managed to get to Robben Island (which
we weren't expecting as we had been told it was closed) and this really was
an experience. We also hired a driver for a couple of days and amongst
other things went to Boulders Beach, Cape Point, Constantia, saw fabulous
birds of prey and stroked a cheetah. Table Mountain Lodge was well located,
and Louise and her team looked after us very well and were very helpful...
Our 2009 holiday will
certainly be one to remember. And when we do have the money for the next
trip, we will certainly think of Uyaphi to help us spend it.

The safari was amazing and everything went perfect. Both guides were very
professional and they done the best of them to make the safari something
special for us.
I think the itinerary was OK probably in damaraland it would be preferable
to spent one day more in Brandberg Lodge Camp and explore more that area
instead of camping near Kamanjab.
The top of Safari was with no doubt the Namib desert Sossusvlei/deadvlei and
Etosha...
The big surprise was the Ongava Lodge!!!! That's quality of life! I
promised to myself to return. The varanda over the savana, the staf, the
lions near the rooms, the Rinos near the shelter (with us inside), the
rooms, the gin tonic at the sunset, everything was out of this world...
Defenitely we have to return and finish this trip, doing the north of
Namibia and the Okavango delta. We have another trip im mind, which is to

you believe it , they make sure that we had ice EVERY evening for our drinks.
We saw amazing things, every day something new, we landed in the middle of the MIGRATION , .The rains were late, we were fortunate to see the last end of thousands of wildebeest and zebras around us at our camp at Seronera ,for 3 days and nights one could here and see them. From the tree climbing lions to the ever shy leopard , to the wonderful sunsets and the smell of rain on the dry earth, we experience it all.

“We have this morning arrived safely at home following the most amazing trip in Namibia - 'the holiday of a lifetime' in the words of my son!
I have to say that you hit the nail on the head in EVERY respect and planned the most brilliant trip for us. It would be difficult to say what the highlight of our trip was, because everyday we experienced new highlights -and not once did we think we think we were in the wrong place or doing the wrong thing - no low points at all.
Perhaps the most magical experience was camping in the wilderness of Spitzkoppe, and the most dramatic scenery was Grootberg Lodge - breathtaking.
Namibia is a wonderful country, full of really amazing people and countryside, and the memories will stay with us for many years to come.
I know that we will be talking about this trip, and all the places we stayed
with all of our friends, and I will happily recommend you and Uyaphi as the company to contact.
Should you ever receive enquiries from the UK and wish to use me as a point of reference, please feel free to contact me or pass on my details.
I cannot thank you enough”

“HI
Great trip, just too much travel. Effectively we spent the greater part of four days out of six travelling. It was great to see the parts of Kenya that we did, but if we go again we will definitely fly.
The Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli are all to be recommended. Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi was excellent
Pollmans were very good and our driver excellent.”

“Just wanted to let you know what a fabulous time we had on our safari! We were so impressed with Ranger Safaris, a really professional outfit.
Our driver, Eric, was topnotch and knew all the good spots, he was so patient with our out-the-window shopping sprees also.
The Serena Lodges at Serengeti and Ngorongoro were beyond expectations, the people were so nice. The Sopa Lodge at Tarangire was beautiful and comfy. We saw animals beyond our wildest dreams and had a once in a lifetime experience.
Thanks again for all your help. Susy & Linda”

“I am sorry for comming back to your request so late, sorry for that.
But I’d like to express that I was highly pleased with my Krüger Park trip!
I had a great time.
We were a small group of four (surely one reason, because you get more information from your guide, it is like a private atmosphere, you`ve got more space for your own), we had an excellent guide with high knowledge of nature and animals. Our accommodation was perfectly ok (for a younger group like ours) and food as well.
The part that I liked best was the morning walk with two rangers. I could have done this for a far longer time than two or three hours or a second time during our trip.
All in all I had big fun and an unforgetable time in Krüger Park.
My following trip through South Africa was very impressive and awesome, simply great. I have the deep wish to come back. I wouldn’t hesitate to book a trip with uyaphi again.
If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I try to answer faster.
Have a good time and happy holidays at christmas time.
Thank for your great support and the short-term booking I needed.”

“We had a wonderful holiday so thanks for your helpin booking and arranging things
Baines Camp was the highlight - such a small , personal and lovely site where we saw some amazing wildlife sights and slept out under the stars.
Moremi was great as was Ilala Lodge although I'd misjudged our money so we had to cross the border into Zambia to get some cash which was different to say the least !!
Bazaruto was fabulous and I guess the only slight disappointment was Kubu Lodge at Chobe which was a bit commercialized, less personal and a bit outside the National Park but I think we had been spoilt by Moremi and Baines
Overall a great holiday and fantastic experience so thanks
We're thinking of another one in a couple of years - either Kenya or probably Namibia via Capetown - so we'll be in touch !!”

“Thank you for your message, we are delighted to be able to let you know that the safari run by Skeleton Coast Safaris was excellent. Their knowledge about the area was extensive and they were able to provide a truly unique insight into the geology, the geography, the flora and the fauna of the whole area. We particularly enjoyed the experience of meeting the Himba people and also the visit to Etosha, the site of hundreds of Flaming in flight was amazing.
It was truly an unforgettable experience.”

“Our trip in Zambia has been an unforgettable experience once again. Organisation was just perfect, we received a very warm welcome everywhere and the beauty of wildness was just tremendous. As far as we can remember, we've never seen so many hippos in South Luangwa River. We've been able to admire at night a splendid leopard, but unfortunately, lions never showed up.
Food was of a very high level at Chichele Presidential Lodge and the house was so refined.
At Shumba Camp, we just felt like being at home, 'cause the staff was so warm and friendly. In the middle of nowhere, comfort of tents was excellent, even if nights were very cold (3-4 C°). Fortunately, a hot water bottle was more than welcome in our bed !
Once again, I want to thank you for your services, your efficiency and the organisation of all our transfers. No problems, no delay, no inconvenience... in a word: true holidays. Akunamatata !”

“I'm just back to work today after a great holiday in the UK and an absolutely fantastic time in Namibia! I just wanted to thank you for all your efforts in helping us make this such a brilliant holiday. I thought everything was handled very professionally by yourselves and Namibia Tracks and Trails. Even the itinerary package we were given on the first day was beautifully and thoughtfully done...
If you want any further details on anything just let me know.
We really did have a brilliant time. My only worry is how future holidays will ever come up to scratch after this one! (If you have any ideas on that I'd love to hear them, when you have time!)
Thanks again for everything.”

“Sorry it took so long to reply......I'm also going crazy since we've been
back.
Our travels were AMAZING !! It was a lot of constant moving, but we had a
terrific time.
So sorry we couldn't connect in Capetown. I called you one night.....much
too short notice....but we were touring non-stop from the moment we arrived.
In Capetown, we visited Robbin Island, V&A waterfront, Table Mountain,
Winelands tour and drove to the southern points around the cape. In just 3
days!!
I wanted to THANK YOU...THANK YOU....THANK YOU for all of your help in
organizing, and co-ordinating all of my endless requests and answering my
non-stop questions!! You are truly an amazing travel agent and I thank my
lucky stars that I had someone like you to make my birthday trip such a
memorable experience.
Considering all of the planes, transfers and infinite details needed to
co-ordinate this trip.....it all went pretty smoothly and we enjoyed every
action-packed minute of it!...
I will highly recommend your agency to anyone that I know is planning a trip
to your beautiful country!”

“...just wanted to drop you a note to tell you what a great time we had. The trip could not have been planned better. All of the accommodations were wonderful, it seemed like each place we stayed was better than the one before it. All were greater than our expectations. Everyone we met was extremely cordial and very helpful. The host's mother at Elephant Hide in Knysna told us the Botswana safari would be the "cherry on top", and she was right. She also said you had done an excellent job planning the trip for us, we totally agree.
We are ready to come back right now but realistically we are looking at coming back in 2010.
We had a wonderful time and appreciate all of your hard work in bringing it together for us.”

“Well first my apologies for not getting in touch in CPT. The phone packed up in the final days and your number was in there. I know I could have looked up Uyaphi in the phone book but let's just say I got a little involved with a young lady from the truck. Sorry! Did get my baby Canon pickpocketed on the Saturday night in an Irish Bar but that pm, I had taken out my 4gb card so I lost no pics, just money...The trip was quite wonderful, hard at times but I softened the blow by upgrading at every opportunity. Think I only camped 10 times....
4 of us did NC56 and about 8 did NC46 - we got a lot of newbies at Vic Falls who were rather quieter. Most were 30 yrs old or less but we got on really well. I kinda became the father of the truck, not in a stuffy way, they just seemed to find me funny, knowledgeable (they banned me from Trivial Pursuit, though) and kinda brave for doing all this at my age. They were supportive too no more so than on that gorilla hike - did find it very steep and being a smoker at that altitude, it wasn't easy. They also laid on a great BBQ party for my birthday in Nairobi on May 10th..
It wasn't just animals though. The people were wonderful and the kids, well utterly gorgeous. Now I understand why Diana was happy to hug the dirty little buggers. Course, you have little choice here in Swakopmund township for they jump into your arms...
So yes, a truly wonderful experience...”
