Thanda Private Game Reserve in northern Zululand, South Africa, walked away with the coveted Leading Safari in South Africa award at the 2006 World Travel Awards, held last night at the Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa. Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the “travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscar’s”, the World Travel Awards is the most comprehensive, the biggest and the most prestigious awards programme in the global travel industry. Votes are cast globally by professionals within the travel industry, making the World Travel Awards the most recognised in the travel industry.
