Majeka House

October 14th, 2009
Majeka House
by Nerissa Lategan

Situated in a very up market residential area called Paradyskloof, Majeka House is situated a few minutes drive from the main roads of Stellenbosch. It is a 18 room property in a security complex and the hotel is fairly new as they opened in November 2008. All the rooms have the same design and decor (white crisp linens and thick fresh towels, browns and gold’s to compliment the frame in which the huge flat screen TV hangs). The premier rooms are upstairs with a view of the mountains and have a separate bath and showers. There is also a 3 bedroom villa available for families or couples traveling together, and breakfast will be included. There are two swimming pools one which is indoor and heated and has a Jacuzzi.

For those who want to burn off some holiday weight, they have a small gym and sauna on-site.They also have a conference facility available which can seat up to 16 people as well as a business centre should you wish to check some emails. The spa hosts two rooms, one for couples and for singles with a wide range of treatments available. A chef prepares meals for breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the restaurant should you not wish to explore the surrounding Winelands.

I liked the idea of the little sliding door which has a nice floral design and this door separates the bathroom and bedroom. The private balcony should be popular during summer should you wish to chill in your rooms and have some fresh air. Most hotels normally provide white slippers, but at Majeka they have Crocs instead which one can walk down to the spa or pool areas which I thought was a very cool idea.
