Uyaphi.com’s service shines bright as the African Sun...
“ ..We had a fantastic trip, largely due to your expertise and great planning. Air Botswana did arrange our accommodations and Mack Air was very helpful. Beverly from Mack Air actually met us at the airport in Maun that night and helped us feel much calmer. ....Thank you so much for all your help and constant contact with us to make our honeymoon a success. We have already recommended Uyaphi to several people and will continue to do so. ”

STOP PRESS: NAMIBIA AND BOTSWANA HAVE AVAILABILITY FOR LAST MINUTE WORLD CUP ADD-ONS

While South Africa is pretty well subscribed over the June/July period, neighbours Namibia and Botswana have not seen the levels of booking they anticipated over this time. This is good news for World Cup visitors who would like to get a real taste of Africa while they are here, or for those wanting to visit but are put off by the prospect of hordes of football fans cluttering the African Bush.

Namibia and Botswana offer a taste of Africa as it once was – dramatic landscapes, wide open spaces of glorious solitude and wilderness experiences you cannot find anywhere else on earth. There is abundant wildlife to be seen in settings that are truly unique and cultural encounters with people who still manage their traditional lifestyles close to the earth and far from the ravages of the modern world.

Namibia and Botswana are easily accessible from South Africa, serviced by daily flights and a well established tourism industry to cater for their guest's every need. We at Uyaphi are ardent fans of the safari experiences to be had in Namibia and Botswana and our consultants can offer a wealth of knowledge about the them. Uyaphi Reservations Manager Nicky Searle recently received an award from one of our suppliers as the top travel consultant for their tour offerings in Botswana.

NAMIBIA AND BOTSWANA TOUR OPTIONS

Namibia and Botswana Safaris

The best way to taste the African bush is by tented safari with guides who have an intimate knowledge of the area. Camping Safari Tours offer a spectrum of luxury to suit all budgets.

There are four levels for the camping safaris: Luxury, Comfort, Standard and Budget. Rest assured, tented camps offer every comfort imaginable even if your roof is mere canvas. Your comfort and safety are assured at each level, just the configuration of the tents and ablutions differ with different budget levels. Some safaris spend every night under canvas while others spend a few nights in lodges where they are available.

Namibia
In Namibia you will be sure to visit Etosha Pan, the country's foremost game park. The bush surrounding the vast salt pan supports an amazing array of wildlife and most of the park's restcamps lie near waterholes for some spectacular up close game sightings.

You will also visit Damaraland and the fascinating Himba tribe, then head for the coast to take in the atmosphere of Swakopmund, a German colonial beach destination that offers seaside relaxation or an array of adventure activities to get the adrenaline pumping: like quad biking, sand boarding, or scenic flights over desert dunescapes.

Not to be missed is Sossusvlei, location of some of the world's highest sand dunes – a photographic wonderland of rich red sand set against a beautiful desert backdrop.

Botswana
Botswana is home to the miracle of the Okavango Delta, a massive river system flowing onto the sands of the Kalahari desert. This vast system of waterways and islands supports huge numbers of game which makes for one of the most spectacular game viewing locations on earth. This is a truly unique setting which everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime!

You will see some of the biggest elephant herds in Africa. The abundance of game also means a high proportion of predators, so you are sure to see your fill of the big cats and some of the rarer animals difficult to find in less dense wilderness areas. Most tours end off at Victoria Falls, one of the world's greatest waterfalls and also a superb game viewing destination in its own right.

UYAPHI ACCOLADES

Uyaphi.Com reservations manager Nicky Searle walked away with a 1.0 carat Botswana diamond at South Africa's leading Travel Trade Show, Indaba 2010. The award was presented by Karibu Safari Botswana in their international sales incentive competition for the year’s best individual sales person based on number of confirmed bookings, pax travelling and total value of sales.

Nicky, Cape Town born and bred, has worked at Uyaphi.Com since 2005. She specialises in our Botswana and East Africa offerings and has seen consistent growth in sales year on year. This past year has seen exceptional performance despite the global recession. The award is fitting recognition for the high standard of service and attention to detail enjoyed by her clients.

The diamond was acquired by Karibu Safaris from the Debswana private collection. Karibu took advantage of the slump in Botswana diamond industry to acquire the gems for their incentive competition.
