Mature shady trees and a swimming pool invite relaxation. You will be tempted to extend you stay - over and over again. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Afton Grove consists of one honeymoon suite and ten garden cottages which are set in a restful lawned garden with lovely shaded trees - a delight on a hot summer's day. Each cottage unit has its own private patio for seclusion and privacy and a secure parking bay allocated behind the remote controlled gate. There are eight garden cottages and one garden room on a bed and breakfast basis. Each unit contains an en-suite bathroom, shower and toilet with a choice of single or double beds. Each suite is equipped with an honesty bar, complimentary tea and coffee facilities and a mini-bar fridge. DSTV (satellite television) and a telephone are available in every unit. FOOD & WINE: A cosy dining room welcomes guests for breakfast where they are treated to the finest and freshest fare including free-range eggs, home-baked breads and decadent fruity jams. A choice of farm style or continental breakfast is on offer. For business travelers and bird watchers an early breakfast is provided. Delectable dinners may be requested- many a friendship has been forged around the Afton Grove table or in the adjoining lounge with open fireplace. Afton Grove guest house will arrange a "traditional" South African BBQ's known as a braai or packed lunches on request. ACTIVITIES: Afton Grove is run by a family who are passionate about the outdoors, and thus this Cape Town country retreat is perfectly suited to avid bird watchers, enthusiastic horse lovers and those with an affinity for nature. A wetland birding route, including some 70 species, starts within easy walking distance and Afton Grove itself boasts a list of over 100 bird species identified over the past 25 years. |
