Makalali
Game Lodge is seated on 15 000 hectares of conservancy
with the majestic backdrop of the Drakensberg mountains west
of the Kruger National Park, the ethnic bush retreat of Makalali,
meaning "Place of Rest" in Shangaan, prevails as one of the
finest private game lodges in the Sub-Sahara. |

Makalali Game Lodge has four separate 12-bed camps
situated on the banks of the Makhutswi River. Luxury accommodation is
offered and each air-conditioned room has an en-suite bathroom, outside
shower, private deck, fireplace and a raised timber "sala" which doubles
as a lounge or dayroom as well as a viewing platform. The rooms are
decorated in African design styles with vivid Kentle cloths and sculptured
taps and basins.
Each of the four camps are totally
private, yet within easy access of each other. Guests may reserve individual
camps as their own, or else may combine all four camps for exclusive
seminars or incentive groups. Makalali has it's own entertainment area
where conferences can be conducted or where incentive groups can meet
for their meals.
Makalali in the Klaserie Game
Reserve is the ideal safari destination,
with activities including game drives in open land Rovers accompanied
by professional game rangers and trackers, photographic excursions,
bird-watching safaris, stargazing, day trips to the Kruger National
Park and tribal dancing, are all available on a daily basis.
