Nottens Bush Camp is one of the finest family run lodges in Africa, and the best kept secret in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. As one of the original game lodges it has a magical bush atmosphere and offers an authentic African safari experience. Its extremely high return cliental is due to its impeccable standard of service and warm hospitality.

Daily Safaris are led by experienced Shangaan rangers in open top land rovers offering adventurous, close-up encounters with the region's prolific wildlife, including the Big Five.

Daily bush walks are also available which allow one to discover the small hidden treasure of this exceptional region. Notten's prides itself in offering its guests a phenomenal wildlife experience.

The Notten family purchased the property in 1964 and in 1986 Gilly and Bambi Notten opened their family home, to what is known today as Notten's Bush Camp. It is a place that has witnessed incredible events and amazing characters (both animal and human), which have carved the enduring Notten's legacy still enjoyed today.

ROOM & SUITE TYPES:

Notten's Bush Camp's accommodation consists of beautifully appointed suites with open plan bedroom and en-suite bathroom. All suites have both indoor and outdoor shower facilities. All windows and sliding doors are fitted with screens and insect coils are provided. Each suite at Notten's Bush Camp leads onto a private wooden deck with a beautiful view of the bush.

Paraffin lamps and candles replace electric lighting for ambience and all the rooms are cooled with an overhead ceiling fan.

Facilities are available for the re-charging of video machines and camera batteries in the safari lodge's reception area.

FOOD & WINE:

The food at Notten's is always delicious and it is known as one of the finest private safari lodges in Mpumalanga. Meals are a social event and guests gather in the enclosed boma around a log fire under a canopy of stars in winter or in the open plan summerhouse lit up with candlelight during summer. Meals are eaten together around one communal table, with the company of the Notten's and their Notten's Bush Camp team. This creates a wonderful atmosphere and an opportunity for the guests to share stories and conversation with other interesting people from South Africa and around the world.

The excellent cuisine consists of a traditional bush breakfast with fresh fruits, yogurts, mueslis and freshly baked muffins followed by eggs of one's choice, crispy bacon, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, and the chef's speciality of the day. The buffet high tea/lunch, served at three o'clock is a delicious spread of freshly baked quiches, breads and pies, an array of succulent garden salads, a selection of cheese and cold meats all to be finished off with the chef's heavenly cakes. The three-course dinner is a wholesome delight of traditional flavours. The menu is varied with all tastes being catered for at Notten's Bush Camp.

ACTIVITIES:

There is nothing as invigorating as watching Africa's wildlife in their natural habitat. The place where nature dictates the rules and humans are mere observers. Enjoy an unforgettable African lion safari in the wide expanse of the greater Kruger National Park ecosystem.

Driving or being guided on foot by our experienced rangers will bring you as close as you will ever get to true nature, the African way. With daily guided tours from early morning to late night drives join us for an African safari beyond your wildest expectations.
