Idube Game Lodge
'Idube Game Reserve is situated in the heart of South Africa's premier wildlife conservation area'
|
|
Idube Game Lodge is situated in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, in the heart of South Africa's premier wildlife conservation area. Game viewing from open Landrovers, with experienced rangers and trackers, is outstanding, with the Big Five seen really close to vehicles.
Head for the captivating bush kaleidoscope of Idube Game Reserve, a world of adventure and discovery set deep in the wild heartland of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, part of the world renowned Greater Kruger National Park.
Built under towering knobthorn and jackalberry trees, the lodge offers guests a peaceful retreat away from the stress of city life.
An exclusive family owned lodge, Idube Lodge is dedicated to giving guests a genuine bush experience.
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
This Idube Game Lodge has ten en suite chalets, each individually decorated, with air conditioners, overhead fans and high ceilings. Each suite has been refurbished giving a very fresh and attractive look, with draped mosquito nets giving a touch of safari romance. There are also mosquito gauze on doors and windows.
Idube Lodge has brand new private wooden decks have been added to each suite and have quickly become the favourite place for guests to enjoy both the tranquility of the lodge and a place to view visiting animals.
FOOD & WINE:
Each meal is a special occasion, with breakfast and lunch enjoyed at the open air dining deck and dinner celebrated in the lantern lit boma or out at the bush venue. There guests enjoy the quiet under the stars, until the sound of drums and singing fill the air, followed by a delicious, traditional braai (barbeque) featuring the chef's specialties.
The chefs create meals to remember, combining african flavours and flair with the latest gourmet trends. Game meats are also often on the menu, eagerly tried by adventurous guests.
ACTIVITIES:
There is an early morning game drive and a late afternoon/evening game drive over an area of approximately 24 700 acres (10 000 hectares).
Guests can expect to see some, if not all, the Big 5, as well as many other species of game and some of the over 300 species of birds.
Animals are usually seen from very close quarters, the sighting is professionally handled and controlled. Drives are normally 3 to 4 hours long, with a stop along the way for tea, coffee or sundowners. Idube is particularly well known for the frequent and excellent sightings of leopards - a photographer's dream come true.
After breakfast, a morning guided walk is offered or guests can relax round the pool or on their decks.
There are also photographic shows and talks given by the Rangers on their particular topic, including the customs and history of the Shangaan people.
