| The first historic meeting between Shaka and his father (Senzangakhona), which set the stage for the creation of the Zulu nation, took place at the Nseleni River at Thula Thula. Thula Thula, one of the oldest Private Game Reserves in KwaZulu-Natal, is situated on the North Coast only 30 minutes from Richards Bay harbour and airport, and less than 2 hours drive from Durban. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: The unique atmosphere, stylish décor and an exclusive and personalized service makes Thula Thula’s Elephant Safari Lodge a five star bush experience. Luxury, privacy, exceptional service, attention to detail and a gourmet menu are the main focus of the Elephant Safari Lodge. Each unit is constructed with stone and thatch with verandas overlooking the reserve. All rooms in the Elephant Lodge are equipped with the following; Air-conditioning, tea & coffee making facilities, filter coffee plunger with locally ground coffees, two pin adaptors, extra blankets, electric blankets, mosquito nets, ample cupboard space, toiletries, towels and robes, dressing table & mirror, hairdryer, local art. Deluxe Suite (qty 2) The deluxe rooms are approximately 25 sqm, with a queen sized four post bed, en-suite bathroom with single basin and shower and a veranda which overlooks the bush. The deluxe rooms are ideal for single occupancy. Luxury Suite (qty 4) The luxury rooms are approximately 35 sqm, 3 of the luxury chalets have 2 ¾ four post beds and 1 of the chalets has a queen size four post bed. The en-suite bathroom has twin basins and a bath and shower en-suite. Each luxury chalet has a veranda which overlooks the bush. Additional single beds for children can be put into the luxury rooms on request. Suite Royale (qty 1) The Suite Royale is perfect for honeymooning couples; with a large king size four post bed. The Suite Royale is approximately 75 sqm, has a separate lounge area, en-suite bathroom with large walk in shower, bath with bush view and twin basins, slippers are also provided. Suite Royale has superb bush views and a veranda which overlooks the watering hole. Suite Imperiale (qty 1) The Suite Imperial is approximately 80 sqm; with two double beds (four post), lounge area with chez lounge, en-suite bathroom with large walk in shower, bath with bush view and twin basins, slippers are also provided. Suite Imperiale has superb bush views and a veranda which is ideally situated to watch the sun go down. FOOD & WINE: Candle lit dinners are served either in the dining room, on the terrace or in the boma under the stars. A fusion of the most delicate fare combined with exotic flavours and enhanced with the finest South African wines make Thula Thula one of the most renowned gourmet destinations in KwaZulu Natal.
