Prince's Grant Lodge
'Dolphin Coast Golf Estate, set amongst the grand old sugar estates on the North Coast just forty-five minutes drive from Durban' |
|
Prince's Grant Lodge on the KwaZulu Natal Dolphin Coast is set amongst the grand old sugar estates on the North Coast just forty-five minutes drive from Durban and an hour from the premier game reserves of Northern Natal, Prince's Grant Golf and Country Estate is the jewel in the crown of this prime, unspoiled stretch of coastline fringing the Indian Ocean.
Sculpted from the rolling dunes of the original Hyde Park Farm, which George Wilson Prince acquired in 1856 by Deed of Grant from Queen Victoria, this private sanctuary is the perfect retreat from the heady pace of the world just beyond its sugar cane borders. |
|
With miles of secluded beach, a private lagoon, trails through indigenous forest, and a variety of sporting facilities at your disposal; you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of this paradise at whatever pace you find suitable. As the sun sets, though, prepare to be transported back in time to a more gracious age, where the unhurried indulgence of colonial life finds expression in the superior service and majestic ambiance of The Lodge.
Savour the breathtaking views over our Championship Links from the balcony of one of our15 luxury suites followed by a cocktail in the congenial atmosphere of Mulligans Bar and an elegant dining experience in Bunkers Restaurant. A collection of fine wines, sumptuous dishes, imported cigars and warm hospitality will ensure the perfect end to a memorable stay and a yearning to once again walk unspoiled in the heart of sugar cane country.
The Championship Golf Course at Prince's Grant is rated in the top 20 in the country, and offers an inspirational golfing experience that is both challenging and fair. A blend of links and parkland, the course is undulating with the sloping fairways of the high ground contrasting with the sheltered holes in the valleys.
Designed by Peter Matkovich, one of South Africa's foremost golf course designers, the high vantage points of several tees lead onto cunning use of water features and large undulating greens. He has used the natural contours and maximised the scenic beauty to produce some truly memorable holes. |
