Dumazulu Cultural Lodge
'Zulu Cultural Village is situated near Hluhluwe, Zululand, North of Durban' |
|
Dumazulu Cultural Lodge and Zulu Cultural Village consists of twenty-three accommodation units sleeping 2 - 4 persons, representing the different tribes of Southern Africa.
The Lodge is arranged in two circular formations in keeping with African living traditions.
Game drives into the many surrounding Game Reserves and tours to nearby tourist attractions can also be arranged from DumaZulu Lodge. |
|
At Dumazulu Lodge the exterior of each unit resembles the diversity of our tribal people including Zulu, Swazi, North Sotho, South Sotho, Xhosa, Venda, Tsonga, Ndebele and Tswana while the modern interior is tastefully decorated in ethnic fabrics and tribal memorabilia.
The Lodge connected by a walkway to the Village offers an unrivalled ethnic experience where visitors can spend the night in a 'hut' where guests will be able to gain a deeper insight into the tribal cultures and heritage of Southern Africa by reading the storyboards at the entrance of each unit.
Zulu Cultural Village is situated near Hluhluwe, Zululand, North of Durban. Guests can watch and learn about Zulu Traditions including basket-weaving, spear and shield making, beadwork, pot-making, Sangoma bone-throwing and spectacular Zulu dancing when they visit Dumazulu Traditional Village which is home to over 50 Zulu residents forming part of a 'iving museum'.
Dumazulu - meaning 'Thundering Zulu' is the largest Zulu village of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and the only tourist Zulu village to be opened by King Goodwill Zwelithini - placing the royal Zulu stamp of approval on the objectives and authenticity of DumaZulu. The cultural experience culminates in a variety of spectacular Zulu dances.
The Village flows through to the main dining area and bar where visitors can end off their tour enjoying a delicious meal and a cup of tea or coffee, followed by a visit to the world-renowned Curio shop for that reminiscing gift. An added attraction is the Snake & Crocodile Park, where the curator will point out many indigenous South African snakes and a crocodile park where various sizes of crocodile will be found. |
