The Garden Route has a Mediterranean maritime climate, with moderately hot summers and mild to chilly winters. The temperate weather falls between to climatic regions of summer and winter rainfall so, as it rains mostly at night, the area is kept perenially green. All rooms are en-suite, with air-conditioning, tea & coffee making facilities and colour TV with M-Net and DSTV. Family rooms can accommodate a family of 4 or 6 and are provided on request, when availability allows.
FOOD & WINE:
A mouthwatering buffet breakfast which will satisfy your every desire. From freshly baked croissants and pastries to fluffy omelettes. From delicious bacon to waffles and ice cream. Definitely something to eat for the whole family!
A full buffet dinner which includes, soup, a selection of starters, two roasts, vegetables in season, potatoes, rice and gravy, salads and a selection of desserts.
FACILITIES:
Leisure facilities include lazing on the beach or at one of two pools. There is also a bowling green, miniature golf, tennis, squash court, gym and outdoor chess. The Wellness Centre & Spa in the hotel offers spa treatments to guests, as well as the use of the pool. Unfortunately, this area is not accessible to children under 16.
ACTIVITIES:
Explore the surroundings and visit the nearby Wilderness National Park, Featherbed Nature Reserve, the Otter Trail, Tsitsikamma National Park or the scenic Bushbuck and Kingfisher Trails. The spectacular Sedgefield lakes district nearby, with its abundance of bird life and nature trails, is a must for nature lovers. For more adventurous travellers, the area offers a variety of outdoor activities including paragliding and parasailing off Dolphin's Point, kloofing, abseiling and canoeing. Alternatively, go for a leisurely ride in the Outeniqua choo-tjoe, a genuine steam train, which runs between George and Knysna, or visit the famous Cango Caves, crocodile and ostrich farms in Oudtshoorn.
