Belvidere Manor
'Accommodation in Knysna where guests are accommodated in Cape-style cottages, each individually decorated wide verandahs with beautiful views' |
|
Belvidere Manor Hotel - South Africaīs most romantic - and most relaxed - getaway. Enjoy the beguiling tranquility of the west shore of the Knysna Lagoon. Relax by the swimming pool in our beautiful colonial-style gardens (the Estate is a nature-loverīs paradise with more than 270 species of birds) or retreat to the secluded comfort of the fireplace or the terrace in your own Cape-style cottage. Mealtimes can be deliciously drawn-out affairs; the morning is made for taking things easy and the afternoon is designed for rest and recovery.
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
The accommodation at Belvidere Manor consists of 34 Cottages, some of which have a view of the Knysna lagoon and some of which have a view of our gardens. Guests are housed in their own private cottage, single or double storey, which consist of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. Each cottage has a wide verandah, comfortable lounge with fireplace, a fully fitted kitchen, bedrooms en-suite, telephone, television with satellite channels and overhead fans. They are fully serviced.
FOOD & WINE:
Belvidere Manor's new-look restaurant, serving a contemporary menu embracing the 'gastronomica' ethics of sustainable, locally sourced produce - slow-cooked or lightly tossed - the result will delight!
Knysna's smallest pub is housed on the site of the original Belvidere farmhouse, and indeed a feature of the pub is the wine cellar viewed through the window in the floor, where freshly caught game would have been hung. With a yellowwood ceiling and ironwood block floor, The Bell is a quaint favourite of the Belvidere locals.
ACTIVITIES:
Take a picnic to the forest or one of the many beautiful beaches close by. Knysna is fast gaining a reputation as the adventure centre of the Garden Route, bungy jumping, abseiling, kayak trails and horse-riding can all be enjoyed amid a panorama of great scenic beauty.
