There is a place, halfway between the rush of Johannesburg and the whirl of Cape Town, where you can catch your breath and synchronize with the heartbeat of nature, a 14 000 hectare game reserve that lies cupped in the palm of the Sneeuberg Mountains, near Graaff-Reinet in the heart of South Africa's Great Karoo. As gracious and beautiful as the landscape itself, Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve provides an easy armchair from which guests can soak up the soul-stirring sense of peace.
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
A hint of glamour, a touch of style. Mount Camdeboo's gracious and comfortable accommodation can best be described as relaxed elegance, in contrast to the surrounding Karoo countryside.
There are three beautifully restored Manors offering a total of twelve spacious double rooms, each en-suite, air-conditioned and with full length swimming pools. Outdoor dining under the exquisite Karoo night sky is an essential part of the African experience.
Camdeboo Manor; Offers guests a private experience with three of its four uniquely decorated bedrooms leading onto a secluded patio and into the lush, landscaped garden.
Courtyard Manor; Cconsists of four en-suite bedrooms and is closest to Mount Camdeboo's reception and conference facilities. Its original name of Ou Werf could imply the village square, a bustling meeting place for friends and neighbours.
Secret Hideaway (Honeymoon Suite); A quaint, romantic stone cottage where there is an ancient magic in the air, weaving its silken web around love to create bonds that last longer than memories. This olden stone gatehouse has been keeping watch over the comings and goings for nearly three hundred years, but if it's privacy you're after, you won't need to see another soul.
FOOD & WINE:
Enjoy outdoor dining under the exquisite Karoo night sky, considered by many as an essential part of the African experience.

It provides guests with a unique game viewing experience due to the combination of our biomes and an altitude range of almost 5 000 feet (1 525m). From the bush thickets and riverine areas to the plateau grass plains with the backdrop of the majestic mountains that make every game drive a breathtakingly beautiful experience.
