Xugana Island Lodge is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, nestling under a canopy of wild ebony and garcina trees facing onto the tranquil blue waters of Xugana Lagoon.
Xugana Lagoon has, for thousands of years, been a safe haven for the Bushman people who hunted this pristine water world. Xugana Lagoon is in the permanent Delta, a world of crystal clear waterways winding through vast reed and papyrus beds, opening unexpectedly onto tranquil lagoons
Xugana, means "kneel down to drink".
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
Xugana lodge accommodates just 16 guests in large raised reed and thatch chalets, situated on the shaded fringe of the Xugana island, each with a lagoon view through the lagoon-side vegetation. Each chalet is twin bedded with en-suite facilities, showers, overhead fans and a private deck. His & Hers Robes are provided.
FACILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
Activities at Xugana include birding, seasonal fishing, boating, short mekoro (canoe) excursions and Xugana island walks accompanied by highly qualified and experienced guides. For the less energetic there is a swimming pool submerged in the reeds on the banks of the lagoon.
