Palmwag Lodge is one of Namibia's oldest and most popular tourist destinations and is renowned for its idyllic location amongst rustling palm trees, spectacular scenery and convenient location in the vast 450 000-hectare (1.1 million-acre) Palmwag Concession with its host of desert-adapted wildlife.
The rugged landscape in which the lodge is situated is a spectacularly scenic wilderness area centred around the Concession, best known for its desert-adapted wildlife such as black rhino, elephant and giraffe. The concession supports the largest free-roaming population of desert-adapted black rhino in Africa. The broader area is also well known for the unique culture of the semi-nomadic Himba people.
