Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirements: If travelling from an infected area and > 1 year of age.
Malaria Area of Risk: Prophylaxis with Lariam, Malarone, or doxycycline is recommended for travel to low-altitude areas of the Mpumalanga Province (including Kruger Natonal Park), Northern Province, and northeastern KwaZulu-Natal as far south as the Tugela River. :
Other Diseases:Schistosomiasis (swimming and bathing precautions strongly advised),Marburg fever (reported in 1975), Tick-borne relapsing fever, African tick bite fever (reported among travelers to the Bongani Game Reserve on the southern border of Kruger National Park),West Nile fever (transmitted by mosquitoes), Brucellosis (the most common animal source is infected cattle),Anthrax (outbreaks reported from the North West province in 2002)
