Days 1-2: Natal North Coast
» On arrival at Durban International Airport, pick up your rental car and self drive to the Natal North Coast.
» Drive to Hotel Izulu for your first stopover ± 1 hours (traveling at speed limits, no sight seeing) from the Durban International Airport.
» The following few days are at your complete leisure, explore the area or simple just relax the choice is yours.

Days 3-4: Central Drakensberg
» After your morning breakfast, depart for the Scenic Central Drakensberg Mountain Range.
» Estimated traveling time from Durban: ± 2 - 2.5 hours (traveling at a leisurely pace).
» Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse offers beautiful country house accommodation in the Drakensburg Mountains in South Africa.
» With the crisp winter mornings, roaring log fires and beautiful sunny days of winter approaching us again, what more could one wish for than a couple of days at Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse for a romantic gourmet getaway in the Drakensberg Mountains.

Days 5-6: Northern Drakensberg / Battlefields
» After your morning breakfast, depart for the Scenic Nothern Drakensberg.
» Drive to Three Trees at Spioenkop for your first stopover ± 1-2 hours (traveling at speed limits, no sight seeing) from the Central Drakensberg.
» Surrounded by the Drakensberg Mountains, overlooking a secluded valley of the Spioenkop Game Reserve and in the lee of the famous hill, Spioenkop, lies Three Trees Lodge.
» The bedrooms are equipped with all the modern conveniences with heated towel rails and 100% cotton percale linen adding to your comfort.
» Each room has its own deck, which offers unimpeded views of the valley and Spionkop.
» Three Tree Hill Lodge specialises in the history of the 2nd Anglo-Boer War from (1899 - 1902) with the Battle of Spioenkop being our focal point.
» One cannot however hope to understand this watershed event (not just for South Africa - it was 'the longest, the costliest, the bloodiest and most humiliating war that Britain fought in between 1815 and 1914') without studying what caused one of the smallest countries in the world to declare war on the worlds greatest empire of the time.

Days 7-8: Natal Battlefields
» After your morning breakfast, depart for the Natal Battlefields.
» Drive to Fugitives' Drift, ± 3-4 hours (traveling at speed limits, no sight seeing) from the Nothern Drakensberg.
» The spectacular Fugitives' Drift property, a Natural Heritage Site, overlooks both Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, and includes the site where Lieutenants Melvill and Coghill lost their lives attempting to save the Queen's Colour of their regiment.
» Both the Lodge and Guest House have spacious and luxurious en-suite cottages which all have private verandahs and broad views over the plains flanking the Buffalo River Gorge.
» The Lodge and Guest House both have swimming pools set in their colourful, well established gardens which are home to innumerable bird species.
» World renowned for remarkable battlefield tours to Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift led by registered tour guides Rob Caskie, Joseph Ndima and George Irwin.

Days 9-10: Phinda Private Game Reserve
» After your breakfast, depart for the Phinda Private Game Reserve in the Zululand Region Of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
» Estimated traveling time from Fugitives Drift to Phinda: ± 2-3 hours (traveling at a leisurely pace).
» Check into your chosen lodge and should time allow depart on a late afternoon game drive.
» Face-to-face with lions and rhino, up close to a whale shark or battling sailfish, that's the Phinda experience, one of the most exciting safari destinations in Africa.
» Located between the azure waters of the Indian Ocean and the lush waterways of the World Heritage Greater Saint Lucia Wetland Park, Phinda's 17 500 hectares span seven unique habitats.

Days 11-12: Zululand Coast
» After your morning breakfast and a morning game drive, depart for the scenic and remote Zululand coast line.
» Estimated traveling time from Phinda: ± 2 - 2.5 hours (traveling at a leisurely pace).
» The secluded Rocktail Bay is situated within the coastal forest just behind the forested dunes that occur along Maputaland's coastline.
» The warm Indian Ocean lies just beyond the dunes and on one of the most incredible beaches in all of South Africa.
» With nearly 40 kilometres of unspoilt, pristine coastline, where the waves meet endless stretches of beach, it is possible to walk for hours without meeting another soul or seeing a building.
» Rocktail Bay offers comfortable accommodation that is ideal for people who want to truly relax and unwind on one of the best coastlines anywhere in the world.
