Overland Vehicle Types & Accommodation
'When planning your overland safari it is important to understand what types of vehicles are available as well as the accommodation on offer'
Tents, Accommodation & Equipment:
- Spacious, comfortable tents accommodating 2 persons each- Each tent is insect proof and equipped with a built in ground sheet for insulation as well as two aerating windows with mosquito nets
- Each passenger is provided with a foam mattress (except on the vehicles with groups up to 30)and a comfortable safari folding chair
- A comprehensive set of cooking and camping equipment, water containers, first aid box, reference books on mammals and birds of the area and a set of spare parts is carried in the vehicle
- In fact the only things the participants need to bring are their personal effects and a sleeping bag or blanket, and small pillow
Vehicles for Groups up to 12:
- Custom built 12 seat Toyota safari vehicles designed for African conditions- Unique game viewing hatches and observation roof racks
- Large, sliding windows that offer protection from the sun in summer, dust and the cold on morning game drives in winter
- Forward facing seats
- 1 Freezer for food and a 2x cool box for drinks
- Long Range fuel tanks
- 150 litre water tank
- Separate storage compartment
- At least one safe
Vehicles for Groups between 14 & 16:
- Custom built 14 - 16 seat Mercedes Benz & Toyota safari
vehicles designed for African conditions- Unique game viewing hatches and observation roof racks
- Large, sliding windows that offer protection from the sun in summer, dust and the cold on morning game drives in winter
- Forward facing seats
- 1 Freezer for food and a cool box for drinks
- Long Range fuel tanks
- 300 - 400 litre water tank
- Separate storage compartment
- At least one safe
Vehicles for Groups up to 30:
- Custom built 30 seat Mercedes Benz & M.A.N vehicles designed for
African conditions- Upper level platform with long cushioned benches - Mercedes Benz
- Large, sliding windows that offer protection from the sun in summer, dust and the cold on morning game drives in winter
- Forward facing or inward facing seats onto tables
- cool boxes for drinks & stereo
- Long Range fuel tanks
- 300 - 400 litre water tank
- Separate storage compartment
- At least one safe
Vehicles for Groups between 4 & 10:
- Main used for games drives in National parks around Africa and not for long distance travel- Custom built 14 - 16 seat Landrover & Toyota safari vehicles designed for African conditions
- Unique game viewing hatches and observation roof racks
- Large, sliding windows that offer protection from the sun in summer, dust and the cold on morning game drives in winter
- Forward facing seats
- Cool box for drinks
